sorry but this really annoys me. she has money, she is doing something she loves, and she is healthy. some people have no money, have no family, are stuck in horrible jobs, and Gaga is complaining? I don't care if you don't get to talk to fit guys in bars anymore. Get over yourself. Indeed, cry me a river darling.

Nnnn are you really that delusional that you think having money = complete and total happiness? Honey try some sympathy and maybe educated yourself before spewing such a smelly pile of BS on us lmao

She said something similar at her last J&P. She must be really lonely. It makes me sad. :noparty:

Serious question here. Does she REALLY have "like 30" people waiting outside her home at all times NOWADAYS? If so, where are all those paparazzi photos? I am honestly wondering if this is something she still deals with every day at home. I wouldn't think so, because she lives in a normal neighborhood in the Hollywood hills and I imagine the neighbors wouldn't stand for that for very long. And her house in Malibu (why doesn't she live there anymore, by the way?) is on a semi private road/set WAY far back from the street. It seems like she was able to come and go when she lived in Malibu without being harassed all the time.

I know when she is in NYC she is basically followed the whole time, but I thought that wasn't as big an issue in CA. Maybe I'm way off base, though. I just figured there would be way more photos of her out there than there are unless she literally never leaves her house, which we know isn't the case.

Also, she just spent 2 nights gambling at the Park MGM and all the photos/videos online that I saw were very down low type ones, where the people taking them were obviously just regular people being sneaky. I didn't see hoards of "stalkers" harassing her. People gambling around her literally weren't even looking her way.

I don't mean to downplay how she FEELS, but is it possible that her perception is not in line with reality? Anxiety/depression does that to you. I know. It skews your view of your own life/experience and makes you believe it is worse than it really is.

I thought it was interesting that her psychiatrist/therapist was in the audience at one of her shows last week. Not sure what to think of that, but at least this doctor is hearing what she is saying during these shows. Maybe it's part of her therapy to get this stuff out of her head and say it out loud to validate it and get it off her chest. She did also mention that therapy sessions make her feel like **** immediately afterwards, but then she feels better later. I feel like these J&P shows are somehow therapeutic for her, while also being  a performance.

She is an artist. Being famous is hard for creative people. It is a double edged sword. However, many, many artists that are NOT famous also struggle a lot. It's part of having that kind of brain. Even if she stopped being "famous," her mental health struggles would likely continue. The isolation she deals with is part of those issues, and even if she spent the rest of her life around people (REAL, genuine people) she might always feel alone on the inside. It's a sad truth for so many people who live with depression and anxiety.

That is true. She obviously has a really good security team.

She really could make it very easy for herself and just quit. I hate to see her feel like she's imprisoned and can't experience normal human interaction anymore. If it hurts her that much, and she doesn't feel that money is important, she should just settle down with someone, start a family and fade into obscurity.

She has a contract. She can't quit. And she needs just 1 good reason to stay.... :giggle:

Spoiler

which she has, it's us. :sara:

She doesn’t live in the Malibu house anymore because it was nearly destroyed by the bushfire that came very close to her property from a couple of months ago.

About fame, she is not saying “I don’t like fame” or “I’m not grateful for my fans”. She’s just telling us about the OTHER side of fame, the one that killed Princess Diana (paparazzi) and John Lennon (crazed stalker). It’s better that she conveys her anxieties with us than bottles it up. It just means that she feels safe on stage communicating with fans her darkest fears about when her fans are not around, that some day the fame may take her life.

It’s a severe catch 22, fame keeps you at the top but it can also bring you down. If not the inherent danger itself, it’s the isolation and torment of your own mind playing tricks on you.

REALITY

I don't understand why people are trying to invalidate her feelings...Yes, she wanted to be a pop star, but at the same time, she was also very young and naive. No one can prepare themselves for all the negative consequences that come with being famous. It's so unnatural for so many of us to experience that even if you tell someone, "hey, just be careful because once you're famous, you'll never go back to being just another 'regular, normal' person", you can't full understand or grasp that until you've really  experienced fame (especially do the degree that is LADY ****ing GAGA).

Some of y'all are so ignorant it's actually genuinely upsetting. This is something Gaga has obviously been dealing with for a literal decade, and the fact that she been recently talking so openly about it should show to you that she's just trying to communicate how hard being famous is sometimes. Just saying "get over it", "you chose this life", "you have millions of dollars, why are you complaining?" is part of the problem. Just because she has money doesn't mean that her struggles aren't valid.

You'd kill to be in her position, but then you'd realize exactly what she's talking about. So please have some humility when discussing this.

I get that fame is isolating and all but I just can’t get behind the “poor little rich girl” speech.

That's oxymoronic... The "poor little rich girl" speech  is  about fame being isolating. Just because she has money doesn't mean her struggles aren't valid. Money is a superficial object; making genuine connections with people and living a good life isn't.

You implied it by suggesting that people with fame either do not have problems or shouldn’t talk about it.

Part of the prison that is fame is also that you can't just quit fame.

Even if she decided now that she doesn't want to be famous anymore, it would take her decades to become meaningless enough to go out without security or disguise. Also the feeling of having failed millions of fans like no other popstar before, would probably hound her to the end of her days. Prison indeed.

I truly dont understand everyone saying that should could just quit? She doesnt WANT to quit, she just doesnt like certain things that come with fame. She loves the stage, the Audience, and the recognition, but she obviously doesnt love the negative sides. Shes allowed to voice the parts she doesnt like. It's like any dream job or passion has some things that you dont like. Doesnt make it not your dream job.
