It looks like in the 90s-00s it was cool to do blackface but in 10s' it's cool to do nazi stuff.. something is really f-cked up in that continent..

And I honestly think that what is more offending is that specific "acting" that usually comes with the blackface, like a person from the jungle..

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

I have been black pete at work for Sinterklaas back in 2009.

Something I regret now.

Should I be punished?

Public figures/politicians are held at different standards than regular citizens.

Punishment to them comes in the form of public perception or loss of support.

I've done it a few times in my life with nothing but good intentions. I've deleted all pictures, knowing I was wrong. For me it had nothing to do with racism, I was not making the mockery of anyone's race on purpose. It was a costume and I was trying to mimmoick the original as close as possible. For carnaval a catholic celebration it is tradition to play dress up, just like Halloween. As a kid I was Mel B once. I had a wig, and paited myself to look as much like my idol as possible. Later me and my friend dressed up as Oprah Winfrey for the same celebration. We yelled out 'You get a car!, you get a car! and handed out candy keys with an Oprahs Favourite things key chain to everyone we came across. We had no idea this was offensive, and we had no intention to be offensive. In the small Dutch town where I grew up this simply was acceptable back then.

What if I become a public figure in the future? Should I be punished ?

does it undo the good that I have done?

That’s up to your constituents/supporters/fans to decide.

Some people learn and change as the years go by.

no one is perfect, however I never understood the “good” to come out of black-face

You literally posted yours after I quoted you...

And according to you focusing on blackface is a “stupid trivial thing”. Got it. I hope you have the same mentality next time when someone whose politics you don’t agree with does the same thing.

1. good job ignoring the entire rest of my post

2. you're absolutely talking to the wrong person as one thing i pride myself on is objectivity. it's so tiring when people who know absolutely nothing about you assume random stuff to support their point

chaeri pls

No the thrid pic, is from an interview..

But regardless, she was not doing blackface here, it was during the period where Jersey Shore was really popular. And she was going for that vibe kinda like mocking it, but also being fascinated by it, because it went with the Fame theme of the album.

Destiny is for losers. It’s just a stupid excuse to wait for things to happen instead of making them happen
