Little Mix's Jesy Nelson left viewers in tears as she bravely spoke about her battle with depression in her BBC documentary Odd One Out on Thursday night.

The singer, 28, shared in depth for the first time about how online trolls, who mocked her over her looks and weight, triggered her into attempting to take her own life in 2013.

Her boyfriend Chris Hughes applauded her bravery for speaking out, while thousands of fans took to Twitter to praise Jesy for shining light on cyber bullying, with many describing her feelings of self-hatred as 'heartbreaking.'

Thousands are requesting that the documentary is played in schools to prevent bullying and to let people know the effects that online abuse has on people. Celebrities in the UK showed their support and have been tweeting praising Jesy on her bravery! Lots of sites are posting extremely positive reviews of the documentary and state it should be shown to everyone. it was SUCH an emotional documentary and i highly recommend people watch it!

Jesy's bandmates on their reactions when they were informed Jesy attempted suicide in 2013

Jesy urged people at the end of the documentary that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and things will get better and you can be happy again. i'm so proud of how far Jesy has come

everyone should try to be kind, you don't know how one bad comment can hurt someone!

if you are interested on watching the documentary it is available on BBC IPlayer 'Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out' - it is also available on youtube.

Haven’t seen it yet definitely will. From what I know about it it should definitely be played in school, people don’t care how much they hurt someone until it’s gone too far.

Jesy was so strong to do this

honestly i nearly cried :messga: she is SO strong, I would never have thought it affected her that bad and she put on a brave face like she was 'fine', this just makes me adore her even more! Twitter and instagram is full of so much support for her, which is so amazing! compared to the amount of hate/trolling she'd get!

i'm just so glad she is in a better place now!

i agree, so many people need to watch this! it'll educate so many people!

This is so powerful she’s going to make me cry because I’ve been in the same boat:kara: I want to hug her so bad no one deserves to feel this way. I want to watch the documentary now I think it’ll be very emotional, but really empowering:heart:

I kinda guessed before she was struggling because you could feel she was out of place in the early days but I noticed a change around the Get Weird era.

She deserves all the support in the world

honestly, don't watch anymore! :kara:

you don't need to be sorry about anything! please PM if you want to talk!

what is really important from the documentary is that if you feel low or sad you need to talk to someone
