But it kind of is though, sure you could call it "synth-pop," but mood classifies genre as much as every other factor.

Hip hop isn't a range either, don't see the point.

It's the whole thing, it's a theme and a way of speech. I think it's a gnre.

It's more like a pop subgenre/ exaggerated description of style. If it's not a genre then we might as well say PC music is not a genre either because of how much resembles dance-pop. Honestly I don't understand why people get defensive for genres, either in favor or against their existence. :poot:

dark pop is the mood of the song, it's theme and lyrics. AURORA's Murder Song and It Happened Quiet is deffinetly dark-pop. Also inde-pop i think

Of course it's not! :ladyhaha: We call some of Gaga's songs "dark pop" because of the lyrics, music, vibe, etc. Not because it's an actual genre. C'mon!

Don't wanna kiss, don't wanna touch, just drink my ****ing coffee and watch 90's cartoons and hush

Just now, Bio said:

It is to 13 year old monsters who think they're edgy for wearing leather

if you're coming for 13 yo edgy monsters who r wearing leather and feeling themselves then stop. dark pop is a real thing. Yea not an actual genre but if you're listening to a dark pop song u can tell it's dark pop because of it's sound.

Candy Gaga

Dark Pop is a subgenre to pop that combines synth-pop with lyrics about dark topics , heavy instrumentals and synthesizers so it's technically a genre.
