This site never misses a beat grabbing its pitchforks.

Not only did he not do anything illegal, he was the victim of conversion therapy himself. He didn't invent conversion therapy. He sought conversion therapy, thought it helped, and started an organization to "help" other men who were in the same position.

He was misguided, and did a tremendous amount of damage, but he isn't a villain. He is a deeply flawed man who was taught to hate himself from an early age.

This organization also had a youth program that allowed parents to force their dependent and highly confused children into a program that did harm.

I wonder how of these impressionable children ended up committing suicide, attempted suicide, being drug dependent, overdosing, being depressed, etc.?

There's no forgiveness for this person.

There is always forgiveness. But it's not for us to give, it's the people that were affected that have to(if they wish) find it in themselves to forgive him.

Forgiveness is a good thing for everyone. Especially if the forgiven truly feel different from the way they felt, and are acting to fix their wrongs.  Forgiveness always helps the ones doing the forgiveness because it allows them to have true closure and move on. This doesn't mean you have to forget, or have to throw away any lessons you learned- but it enables you to easier learn ways of coping, and loving things in your future.

there have been cults in the past of brainwashed people doing some horrible things to other innocent lives and they also received thei punishment, yeah he was a victim but that doesnt take away the damage that he did and punishment is very well deserved

In this case, the "cult" that brainwashed people would be Christianity.

It's a tragic story, that is only made more tragic by sending someone who is not guilty of a crime to prison.

young adults can still be kids, like 18-19 year olds, or even older, are often forced into it by family and. They are put against an ultimatum, either you go to therapy or get kicked out

I honestly dont know anything about this, when I imagine conversion therapy I just imagine adults who are already religious and feel guilty that homosexuality is a sin, so they go there by choice.

Did he practice this on young people or adults? if only adults, I have no problem with it as its consentual. If you are too stupid to go to a conversion therapy, the blame is on you

Eh nooo????? Blame is on society and whoever brainwashed them to think being lgbt is wrong.

"Consenting" as basicly a lesser of 2 evils. It's not the same as someone willingly going there by their own choice.

Regardless of his apology, there are "blood" in his hands, and he will be forever haunted by it til the bitter end. He will never be fully free from it. It is all psychological. And that is well deserved karma.
