I think a lot of teens got sucked it in Joanne. Literally all of these twinks rage about perfect illusion and the cure :vegas:

Idk but you're completely wrong about casual fans though, almost half of them is 40+

I was 10 when I became a fan and now I'm about to turn 20 so maybe it's because so many of us grew up with her during some of the most crucial parts of our developing lives. I spent my whole preteen and teen years following gaga and so many changes and milestones happen in your life during these years. Because so many of us discovered her when we were basically children, it's like there's no going back now.

Ya I can see that. I am 26 but that’s how I felt with Britney Spears. I was really young when she came out so I couldn’t imagine music without her. It’s crazy how Gaga is like that to a newer generation now. Born this way I really started liking her and I was in high school. Time goes by so fast 😅

Ok kids, grandkids and great grandkids. I’ve got you all beat. I am 72 years old and celebrated my 72nd birthday seeing LG and Brian shows in Vegas on June 15th. Both were unbelievable!!

Of course I knew of Lady Gaga and heard some of her music but at that point didn’t really consider myself a fan. Then....I saw ASIB and was amazed at her talent...then purchased the soundtrack and realized she performed, wrote and produced 98% of the songs on the track. What a phenomenal talent. I then purchased her music with Tony Bennett (I know I know) he’s more my “speed” right? LOL.  It was then I decided I would celebrate my birthday going to Vegas to see her. WOW!!! She blew me away seeing her Jazz and Piano show.

I knew going to the J&P show would be ok, but was a little worried about going to Brian’s show right after hers, because, you see I had a Tier 1 front row table and was worried some young people sure wouldn’t want to sit with an old lady. I was SO SO wrong. I sat with the 3 coolest couples, and we had a blast. Lady Gaga fans are cool, fun and respectable.

Don’t know anything about posting videos, but have a great one of LG walking toward the front of stage toward Brian and almost sat on my lap, I could read every tattoo on her back. It was so fun and this old lady got back to her room at Park MGM at almost 3 am.

I already have tickets to see her and Brian and Puddles and Tommy London when she returns for next residency.

When someone is as talented as Lady Gaga.....Age Ain’t Nothin But A Number!!!

I semi-disagree with this premise. I think most of her fans are over 25—but in general fans that are on social media and fan sites, especially "stan twitter" or for an extended period of time, generally skew younger.

This. I think it just seems like she has a younger fan base because her most vocal fans on social media and forums are usually younger, but that's just because of the nature of these kinds of platforms. Most of her core fan base from 2008-2011 are in their twenties and up lol

I'm 24, I literally have to double take when people post saying stuff like they were 6 when Paparazzi came out :air: then I realise I'm almost old :emma:

I had already finished my undergrad degree by the time Gaga released Just Dance.  I'm 10 years older than you.

Me too!

Also, I work on recruiting young ones to Gaga at my job everyday.  They just don't know it. :ladyhaha:

My best friend's daughter now asks her to play Bad Romance in the car.  My best friend said, I guess you have something to do with that. :huntyga:

This is also a mystery to me, I feel like I was pretty young when she started out, so it seems weird to see only a few people from my generation on this forum. Then again, maybe what it tells me is that I'm too old to be spending time on here :messga: When I actually attend Gaga shows there are literally people from all ages, so I guess GGD isn't the best representation of our fanbase age-wise.

It's also true that we've reached a point where only people my generation and older can actually afford to attend her shows, so maybe it's her shows that aren't a good representation :laughga: idk

i am 27, i was 16 when Just Dance came out. i think the reason why her fan base skews young is because around ARTPOP i know from personal experience a lot of people i knew that loved her kind of fell off and many of them have only just started to come around again with ASIB and the recent success

I'm 41 with two teenagers of my own, the oldest being 15, LOL. I have been a hardcore fan since The Fame. I had a 5 year old then, but damn, good music is good music. I grew up on 80s music, 90s R&B, Rap, and Hip Hop/Dance music. I instantly loved Gaga's sound. I could tell immediately that she was the real thing, with raw talent. I bought all her albums, but did not have time to follow her life obsessively on social media, and never had the opportunity to see her in concert until the June 9th Jazz and Piano show. I brought my husband with me. He was a casual fan before that show. 2 weeks ago, he got a Gaga tattoo. He is my age and on his last year of a 20 year military career. He is full on Gaga obsessed at this point. It's kinda funny. My best friend also loves Gaga, so there's plenty of us old people who are big, career long fans of hers. Shoot, there wasn't anyone who looked younger than about 35 in the first several rows on the floor of the jazz show, and EVERYONE seemed to be a pretty major fan of hers. This narrative here on this site of the "soccer mom ASIB era fans" is off the mark, and amusing to me. I'm as far from a soccer mom as they come, and I'm 40 with kids, but I'll wager I've been a fan as long as or longer than most of you here. Lots of us "soccer moms" have been jamming out to LG for a decade.
