If there's fans out there that love this product and want it to go places I'm glad they can show their support. But yeah, that flag doesn't fly with me maybe she'll use some of the profit to help the btwf conduct more research (and make the world a kinder, braver place for an inspired youth ). this is probably the case, so it can also be argued that by supporting haus labs, you are (indirectly) also supporting the btwf whose message (basically) aligns with that of haus labs (and gaga's entire career). idk, i just like rooting for her. if you hurt taylor swift, i'll hurt you back

Maybe for some it's easier to just say "oh well, ok she lied, what's the problem?" but for others I guess it's not so easy It sure isn't for me. I'm still trying to find a way to rhyme those two personalities of her, the businesswoman and the philanthropist/artist. It's not an easy mix and saying things like "obviously she wants money" doesn't help. It only makes the contrast even bigger. But if she genuinely believed what she was saying at the time, and has since changed her mind and perspective, that doesn't make her a liar. It makes her a human being. Gaga has gone through profound changes in the 10 years we have known her, it's perfectly natural that some things she said when she was 24 no longers apply. It's very unfair to demand she stick to every starry-eyed thing she's ever said. It's fine if that personally disappointing to you, but you have to realize you are holding her to an impossible standard.
weed 73,783
If y’all don’t want it, never wear makeup, don’t get it leave your opinion but don’t try and drag your negativity into every future Haus Labs thread tyvm. I agree the message sounds a little.. regurgitated. But at the same time Gaga was preaching self love before it became a mainstream selling point. That is Gaga being authentic because she’s consistently preached that for 10 years

I don't know, maybe but I can't deny that my head honestly spins when I read that If that's true in her case then I'm happy for her. But a little heads up to her fans would be nice so we can all sort of follow where her head is these days, where her motivations lie. Well, because it's not exactly admirable to move from a "I'm such an authentic artist I would rather not buy a cliché home in ****ing Malibu and spend it on creating the most amazing show yet" philosophy to a "lemme buy that mansion and make my shows simpler and simpler" one There's nothing wrong with change, but in Gaga's case I'm afraid a lot of her changes have been a move away from values and philosophies that were actually quite unique, inspiring and, well... laudable and respectable in the pop industry. It's a hard pill to swallow for fans who fell in love with those philosophies to see them evaporating slowly. Obviously change would be a lot easier if she started with make-up and fashion lines and then after a few years said "I'm not doing that **** anymore, time to focus on my art" but with Gaga it seems to happen in a reverse mode That's a little more hard to adapt as a fan who's just here to enjoy that art (like me). I can’t image being so bothered about another adult buying a house. You have brought that up a lot these past couple days.

That’s completely inaccurate because as a lover of makeup, much like many other makeup lovers it can run deeper than the superficial side of things and I’m sick of people who don’t use makeup or have a passion in it or it’s industry saying this crap. To some of us it gives us extreme confidence and we use it to help other people feel beautiful and find confidence, it’s completely on brand with Gaga. I fully relate to the message she’s conveying, as legend Derrick Berry once said “it’s not for you to get”

katy666 99
Y’all overreact to this whole makeup thing. LMs are way more critical of her than the GP. If the GP don’t like the idea or find her annoying, they just leave her alone. There’s no need to go after her calling her insincere/unauthentic. I somehow think this thing has a potential to be a real hit since y’all hate it so much. Makeup products are targeting the GP rather than merchs for fans. The real risk is the distribution model with Amazon. If it failed, it would indicate that the exclusive online model is not working for makeup products, not that she’s insincere or overpreaching. It's not an easy mix and saying things like "obviously she wants money" doesn't help. It only makes the contrast even bigger. Her passion lies with art and music, that's been her message since the very beginning. I understand where you're coming from, but you also have to understand that believing that she 100% didn't give a **** about money is illogical. She's making millions of dollars, why not use it to get a mansion or whatever? Like I said though, her passion lies with art and music. She likes money, but she isn't being apart of this industry to be a money machine. It is hard to discern which is which though, I'll give you that, because—especially in the past—when she talked about money, she would always make it seem as though it should be viewed in a negative light. However, I think realistically she sees it as a balance. You can have money and buy extravagent things and be more than well off, but I also think that it's important for her to make sure that she isn't sacrificing her art and integrity for it; which is why this makeup brand and her message along with it make sense. 8 minutes ago, Didymus said: But most of us don't understand what exactly her relationship with the products is. That's what's holding us back. She's not presenting a clear message, in fact she's talking in paradoxes One second she says make-up was a way to discover who she was, then she says she had to let go of make-up to discover who she was, then she's saying she doesn't like brands who have to say out loud they're authentic but then her whole campaign is explicitly, to the point of cringeworthiness, "love yourself", "fight for who you are" etc. self-empowering blabbering anyway It's these little things that don't make sense or are hard to interpret in line with all of her comments and values that's stopping fans at a point where you have no problem to cross. But that doesn't mean there's no reason to stop and think for a moment. Like I said before, I think it can be difficult to understand what her messages are, but I think with this brand specifically her message is about being transformative and using the make-up to fuel self-expression. As for the "fight for who you are" and "love yourself" stuff, I think that can also be apart of her marketing without it being contradictory. You can love yourself and who you are without all the make-up and whatnot, but you can also experiment and use the make-up to fuel self-expression. The two are not mutually exclusive. Not only that, but I think part of her message is also about how being able to express yourself is absolutely fine. It's actually consistent with her messages in the past. People might see you as "weird" or as an "outcast" for having weird clothes, or outlandish make-up, or uncontentional thoughts and ideas, but at the end of the day you have to "fight for who you are" and "love yourself" for being different and unique. 🦠🧙♀️🥀📸🎉👻🕺🧟💊💖☎️🔪👤🐺🌱🌎

I just want to, or rather need to know (before I can accept all those changes) what convinced her to change It's that lack of explanation (and I know she doesn't owe me one, don't worry, I don't know her lol) that keeps me in the dark a little bit and makes it harder for me to move on.
