dit 46,738
He was not impressive during the debates and fell flat imo. Additionally I have a very hard time believing he could win against Trump. America still is not ready for a gay candidate. The democrats would be handing over the election to Trump if they nominate Pete. Strategically only Bernie and Kamala stand a chance at this point. I don't agree with Kamala's political approach and I also highly dislike the fact that she takes PAC money in droves but after that debate...she seems like she is 100% apt to take on Trump. She also seems like a moderate democrats which could be attractive to some of the republican voters on edge. Then there is Bernie who is just ridiculously popular and was low key robbed of being the past democratic candidate. But even he'd have some trouble toppling Trump honestly. It just seems like whoever gets nominated won't win. Americans love for their presidents to serve 2 terms and I highly doubt Trump won't, sadly. I think realistically it would between Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris and Bernie Sanders. In my ideal world i would like it to be Pete but as some people pointed out America isn't ready for a gay candidate. I didn't even know he was gay when i saw the debate, i found out on GGD when i posted this thread.

Lion Heart 15,041
The very recent police shooting in the town he runs has been a massive black eye in his campaign. If he can't handle that event right, I'm not sure if he can handle the entire country. ▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀
TheRealJT 2,291
The problem isn’t that he’s gay. The problem is that he’s white and is inexperienced. At this moment he would never get the black vote. Black voters right now only support Biden and Booker. Maybe Kamala, until they find out about her past. I could see them maybe rallying behind Warren. A Warren and Booker ticket might be a good one, a little underwhelming but it’s not terrible.

Plus, he has taken responsibility for his shortcomings in the past. It takes a lot of honesty and integrity to admit failures publicly. He even preemptively left his campaign trail to address the situation at South Bend first hand. That's what a true leader does, confronts the situation upfront and not run away from issues like Trump does. Seems like more or less a smear campaign against him. We'll see how he fares in the upcoming months. Till then, he has my vote. "I was protected by the monks of Azarath, I was raised by my friends. Although I think he addressed majority of these issues (the only one that has haunted him is his dealing with racial situations in South Bend which I think he did a moderately decent job in the debate, not great but decent), some of those are really pointless. For instance, Worked for evil McKinsey consulting firm About the All Lives Matter remark, he has already clarified his stance on that. People should do their research before blindly posting anything on the internet that is going to influence opinions. But again, I'm sensing that's what the motive of the author was, to demonize other top candidates and show them in a bad light (with poor research) just because he's a Bernie supporter. Oh well.
