a mix of waiting for the grammy cut, waiting to start a new decade in the charts and waiting for the other pop girls' eras to pass

I highly doubt that.

Gaga likes to be known for doing something different to her previous work. She would never release an ASIB 2.0 album, or even an album that is similar to that. She's literally just done it... so why do it again?

I never said she's doing an ASIB 2.0 but during an interview she said it would be a mix between pop and asib songs genres

If she released ACT II on soundcloud she could take another 5 years with LG6 :vegas:

I feel it's a combination of never being close to done and ASIB success

I'm thinking that it is around 70% done now and hopefully we'll get an album this year (although it starts to seem unlikely)

She said that her experience in ASIB would influence LG6 - but that doesn't necessarily mean it's influence will take a musical form. Gaga has explained how ASIB helped her to believe in her own abilities, and how she found watching Bradley's management of the project very inspiring.

I think she will take from ASIB a reinvigorated  confidence to do things how she truly wants to do them. And I am sure she will also want to create another character, having mastered the art of writing from a completely different perspective. David Bowie, for example, wrote very explicitly from different 'characters' - and maybe Gaga will want to do that on the back of ASIB.

We'll see - but I highly doubt Gaga would find it fulfilling to release an ASIB-esque record.

She had her first top 10 in years... Shallow was her only hit in most countries from ASIB...

Being popular for 6 months doesn't make u overexposed especially after years of lower media exposure :triggered:

I disagree. She stared in a major motion picture, is currently doing a successful residency, and released her previous album less than 3 years ago. I think she’s taking her time with this. Overexposure has ruined album cycles

I don't think you saw the interview. They explicitly asked her about new music and she responded the way i said.

But i also think she' not doing something that similar to ASIB in fact i only took that response as the fact that she'll balance the record by including some more digestable pop songs

I always thought it made sense for her to either release in early spring or late summer/fall. I have a couple of tin foil theories about the release date lol:

Tin Foil Theory 1: Interscope planned for Gaga to drop the album in March/April to ride off of ASIB, but didn't realize ASIB would still do so well in pure sales and that Shallow was still charting fairly well. They didn't want Gaga to pull an Ariana and compete against herself, and by the time ASIB had died down it was time for Billie and Madonna to release (both Interscope artists) so they decided to hold the album...and Gaga then decided to tweak it even more. Also, her team might not have wanted to have Gaga deal with the R. Kelly (even though she apologized), Carino, and Bradley Cooper questions that would have definitely been asked if she did interviews for promo during this time....and knew that she'd be far less likely to be asked several months later.

Tin Foil Theory 2: Interscope knew that early spring would have Madonna and Billie and late spring and early summer would have Taylor, Miley, and Katy. It hasn't even been a full three years since Joanne and less than a year since the ASIB soundtrack, and so they decided to have her release in late summer or fall...and Gaga decided to go back and work on it even more and scrap some songs.

Tin Foil Theory 3: Gaga wasn't exposed in terms of her music, but was in her personal life because the tabs were paying attention to her every move during the ASIB promotion era. Even one of my friends, who never pays attention to celeb gossip, was like "why is Gaga in the news all the time?" It's unfair, but there's almost always a backlash for women when that happens (see JLaw, etc.). Her team had her change her banners and tweet about music in an attempt to direct the tabloids to talk about when her new music will be coming out and not love triangle rumors (the other woman rumors could have taken a far nastier turn than they did) and so on.

Most ppl only see a movie once tho... And successful touring/residency doesn't make u over exposed to GP. Only a fraction of population attends and it's by choice

Its different from when u have multiple big hits all over radio and people can't avoid it. That didn't happen cuz Gaga only has had 1 big hit in recent years

The only major exposure ppl couldn't avoid was movie promo and that only lasted a few months

This was a short cycle of popularity after years of low exposure

I don't see how this could possibly risk over exposure. This wasn't even close to Gaga's exposure 2009-2011

I disagree with the Madonna thing

Madonna doesn't sell much music anymore or get many streams. It doesn't make sense to push back an artist as big as Gaga for Madonna

Madonna is very profitable still but in touring and that wouldn't be interested with because of Gaga
