I think Grammys alone are not so valuable to the point that ud base your entire release date based on them especially when there's no guarantee you'll even win

But if it was already pushed back a little for one reason or another (say ASIB success)...

Then maybe they figured might as well wait a couple more months and not compete in the same grammy slot

Uh yes the Grammys are that important to record labels so what may seem like a tiny little counter point to your arguments it’s actually 100% a contributing factor. Gaga got a Grammy for Joanne and I bet most people here (myself included) didn’t see that coming. Gaga and her team are gonna play it smart and see what else she gets nominated for, if ASIB gets an AOTY her next album is likely to as well. Joanne and art pop are some of her only albums that haven’t been nominated for it

I think she changed the whole direction of the album since her relationship with Christian started ti fall out. I mean, we have all seen how these things affect her, she scrapped a whole ass revolutionary performance at the 2016 Grammys just because Bowie died. But anyways, she took 6 months to create both Joanne and TFM so I bet it's coming this year. Probably im the summer and if it's then I'd say November 22.

I think Gaga had planned to release a single in May, as insiders had predicted, but then it got scrapped because she didn't have 100% confidence in it and there was sooo many new releases that month.

I'm guessing the single was going to be pride themed for pride month (with the BTW anniversary, the bloodpop "a star is born this way (2019)" tweet,  the starbucks X BTWF collab for pride month).

I do think LG6 was always going to come in Q3 though, but I'm guessing the original plan was to release 2 singles before the album in order to get the most success out of them in the streaming era

I think she’s waiting for a better time. The success of ASIB made her push it back a little bit cuz she doesn’t want the lead single to clash with Shallow success. Of course Shallow has peaked and everything but I don’t think she’d want to drop it as soon as possible, she’s still planning stuff and is not in a hurry to release it.

This is like the wait between The Fame Monster and Born This Way. The album is most likely done but they probably want to wait a little longer to avoid overexposure. I just don’t understand why fans are so desperate for LG6, I’ve always felt it’s coming after August.

Joanne came out in 2016, that’s 3 years ago and she has done the Superbowl, starred in a movie, recorded a soundtrack and won an Oscar for it, Grammys, BAFTA, Golden Globe, started a residency in Vegas, etc. I think she has done a lot of stuff in the meantime and her plans are to release the album this year, that’s pretty impressive for someone who writes and produces her own music.

I don't think there was any risk of over exposure tho

I think Shallow's success changed the release plan - and I think, also, other artists releasing so frequently had a lot to do with it.

I think Gaga and her team want their moment. And it would be easier to have a 'moment' against one major artist (Adele) than multiple other artists. No one will ever beat Adele, and so it's not a competition... and Gaga would know that. If she could release a 'pop' single that gets success alongside a big Adele ballad, she would still have her moment.

I think she wanted to go full EDM/ARTPOP 2.0 but the ASIB success changed her mind and so now she wants to release something more balanced. So i don't think she totally scrapped it but she's balancing it,possibly reworking some songs that were too experimental.

I don't think it's only abut the release. I think the genre of the album also changed a little cause of ASIB.

I think they know she has a strong chance of another #1, so they are waiting for OTR to die down + Grammys deadline.

More than anything I think she’s waiting to build anticipation and to prevent overexposure. everyone will be desperate for new Gaga music especially now that she’s loved by the gp

She had her first top 10 in years... Shallow was her only hit in most countries from ASIB...

Being popular for 6 months doesn't make u overexposed especially after years of lower media exposure :triggered:

She doesn't need a BTW 2.0. She's queen of the gyas, she always does these things. Doesn't mean she'll release a new gay themed bop

Yeah but Grammys just gain u some critical acclaim (which most of the GP doesn't even care about) and only tends to boost sales by any meaningful amount if you actually win (which often you don't anyway)

So while Grammys are pretty nice I don't think delaying something for 6 months just for possible (non-garanteed) Grammys is worth it

If its a delay of just a month or 2 for that reason that's a little different

I highly doubt that.

Gaga likes to be known for doing something different to her previous work. She would never release an ASIB 2.0 album, or even an album that is similar to that. She's literally just done it... so why do it again?

I would like to think that its only delayed for whatever reason.... but we know how Gaga is and how messy her team is lately.... in conclusion, it was most likely scrapped and being redone and rushed (ala LG5/Joanne)

i really hope I am wrong tho
