hoeslay 4,191 Posted May 31, 2019 Share Posted May 31, 2019 My issue is that she's starting to feel like a Lady Gaga 2008-2011 Tribute. Majority of Haus of Gaga LV? Costumes from 2008-2011. Super Bowl setlist? Songs from 2008-2011 + one song from 2016. Enigma? Songs from 2008-2011 plus 4 songs that came out after then (Applause, Aura, Million Reasons, Shallow). This is why fans are so desperate for new material and a new album. We got ASIB but the only song she even sings is Shallow. All her content lately is a visual revamp of old material. And now she's in Vegas for 3 years and it's hard to see a musical evolution happening before the residency ends. I love her and know this is good for her health so as long as she's okay, that's what matters. This probably gives her more time to work on acting projects too. She's still my number 1 but it's a struggle because she hasn't done anything too groundbreaking in few years and not many artists today are doing ANYTHING as iconic as Gaga's ever done...so it feels a little stagnant in the pop world in general. I try not to listen to Joanne (the song) because it makes me cry, and I don't want to loose that by over playing it. Stuff like that. I still love new releases but I don't hype myself to the point of being disappointed if it's not great. Like I only started really liking joanne this year ( of course I liked it in the past too) I just don't feel like her work is so instantly pleasing like the earlier stuff for me. I didn't like Joanne much apart from PI, everything else aged like milk. (DH, DIC, & JW are okay.) I do understand where you're coming from though. But I feel like every few years I get into the whole "Okay, I'm bored and I need something great." ASIB is just as amazing and dear to me as all her albums have been since TFM! I don’t like certain songs (on all the albums), but I feel just as connected to the new music as I did listening to TFM on repeat in my room ten years ago! It would be weird if you equally liked all of her releases. Personally, Joanne didn't resonate with me at all, but ASIB music gave me a magical feeling I haven't felt since BTW. I feel a lack of connection because we don't see daily tweets, candid outfit shots, tour videos, and all of that other stuff like we used to. It makes being a stan a lot more boring.
