Why doesn't he just try a broadcast saying:

I hate brown people! If you're not white, go the f*ck away!

That's his goal, he should be more upfront with his (already blatant) racism.

Unsurprisingly he still doesn’t know how tariffs work :bradley:

Is Trump the dumbest president Murica has ever had? :rip:

How is a tariff supposed to stop immigration? :laughga: a tariff isn't going to solve all the social & economical issues within Mexico that motivate people to migrate in the first place :air:

Trump thinks that other countries (China, Mexico) are paying the tariffs, he doesn’t realize the fact that Americans are actually the ones paying the tariffs. He literally doesn’t know anything :rip:

So its not Mexico that has a 5% tariff to pay but it is the US? but then I guess the US will lower what they accept in the country?

The tariffs are meant to stunt the other country's ability to compete with American-made products because they will be priced higher. Whether it works or not is still to be seen.

The amount of nonsense in this thread is staggering.

Tariffs are placed on a country's imports. In order to make economic profit from the said good the country (in this case Mexico) has two options: either halt the export of goods into the US, or jack up the foreign price of the good in order to compensate for the tariff. If the good is an inelastic good that is not produced anyplace else, then the burden of the tariff falls mainly on the American people. If the good as a domestically produced alternative, then the American people will buy the domestically produced good--which is "better" for the economy.

Exactly. The tariffs are being imposed on American companies which will be ultimately passed down to American consumers to offset the cost, that is why prices for goods are going up.

No these tariffs are being imposed because Trump thinks that those countries are paying them... but they aren’t. He’s not smart enough to realize this.

Obviously these trade wars have only been hurting Americans, especially farmers. Many of them are going out of business... that’s why Trump has had to pay them billions of dollars to help keep them afloat :rip:

5% probably wont do it. If the product sells and it has quality people will still buy it. Also, there are products from everywhere. American made is one option in a big sea
