And not all opinions can be dismissed with false assumptions eg. "You're living in a bubble." It doesn't make you look intellegent. It makes you look like you have no argument and so resort to petty childish behaviour, hence the cringey "honey" with the GIF.

But if it helps you sleep at night, keep thinking everyone on the right wing is a boogeyman out to get you. It's a lot easier than doing research.

Really? When did I say that everyone that is right wing is out to get me? Or that you're living in a bubble? All I said was that not all opinions are equally valid, which they aren't.

Hands up to the sky, I'm about to fly!

I'm sorry it's a shame to be there and to give that mess appreciation.

Do you really support her ???? I'm shook people think this could be a solution.

I am french and I know what i talk about, some may say bish has charisma. Yes she knows to speak loud and she managed to make us forget what her father did.... But she's bland, af, she's never gonna be a sustainable answer.

hello hello baby.

Paradox of Tolerance. You should read up on it. You were one of my favorite people on here. I am extremely disappointed in you.

Where do I support her though ?

The fact I absolutely hate what she stands for.

Is that a reason to bully someone who expresses his own opinion ? No.

You didn’t read up on the Paradox of Tolerance if you think denouncing and condemning hateful views is “bullying”

Just saying but she never won and that kind of proves she never managed to make her opinions win.

I'm just tired of reacting to every hate comment or attack them for their retrograde ideas. Internet is full of racist, homophobe, sexist trolls. You will never change that because the main goal is to make people react et getting huge amount of retweets / likes / comments. Dont react and their point will not get any power.

I disagree.

A reaction will always be a learning lesson for the bystander watching the discussion.

Education on why such people who hold white nationalists views are wrong encourages the public to form a better opinion to wade through political discourse. We, as a society, can not simply ignore a problem and think that it will go away on its own. Ever since 2016, these people are embolden with shifting the Overton Window.

MP Jo Cox was murdered by a white nationalist Brexiteer

Heather Heyer was murdered at a White Nationalist rally for protesting their ideas

These people have and want to propel violence in society. It is not “bullying” to condemn them.

Also, my original statement did not imply that you were a Le Pen supporter. I am disappointed that you offhandedly encouraged a safe space for white nationalists to spout their views by believing some of ggd members were “bullying” them.

So does that mean private companies like say a bakery can, enforce their own rules too and refuse to sell wedding cakes to gays? You haven't thought this through have you?

I don't know how you came to this conclusion. You as a person have the benefit of the doubt. Only when you violate the etiquette like insulting the workers at the bakery or sh!t on the counter the employes can remove you from the store and refuse to sell you anything.

There's a reason why these bigoted people who refuse service to minorities never justify their bigotry with freedom of speech but with freedom of religion. Also the way you connected these two topics makes no actual sense. I'm not stupid enough to fall for such an obvious trap.

The fact that this thread got to 9 pages... The European Parliament is largely irrelevant, far-right parties have literally zero (ZERO) influence in it because nobody wants to work with them while all parties from centre-right to centre-left (let's say, three-fourths of the whole parliament) cooperates with eachother. The European Parliament has no right to introduce new laws, they can only vote for or against laws proposed to them. And even then, they have to cooperate with the heads of state of all EU countries, who also have veto power.

And even then, France only has about 80 out of 670 seats and Marine Le Pen will, in the best case scenario for her, get 22 of these. That's not nearly enough to force any change. Being the biggest party from a country in the European Parliament means absolutely nothing. Let's stop projecting American ideas about 'biggest party' to the European landscape, where it's practically irrelevant. And let's also not forget that Marine Le Pen is for continued Euro and EU membership, meaning that to even get to this point she has to compromise all the things she thinks are important. And finally, the difference in this poll is not statistically significant. Far-right voters have a lower turn-out for European elections and elections in general and are thus overestimated in polls, and this poll is an outlier anyways. Most have Macron's party in the lead.

Even in Macron's party doesn't become biggest in the French European Parliament, his party is destined to be the single most important party for the next years because of his alliance with ALDE and the fact that the socialist and christiandemocratic parties lose their majority together.

By the way: if you're French, please vote for the Socialist party in the European elections. They might be unreliable and whatever, but if they don't reach the electoral threshold of 5%, they won't get any seats. This would have a significant influence on the progressive-conservative make-up of parliament. It's the single biggest difference you can make as a French person voting-wise.

Thank god someone on this site isn’t part of the leftist political cult that all gay people are pushed into. Most people on this site are coming from an American perspective and don’t realize that European far-right parties aren’t automatically anti-gay, and for many they are supported by homosexuals more than any other party. I wonder how pro-immigrant they’d be if the immigrants and refugees entering their country wanted homosexuality to be illegal or punishable as is the case in France.

Naieve, self destructive people. Keep voicing your politics. It’s refreshing in this echo chamber.

You sound like the real fascist here. You don’t have to agree with other’s opinions, but you can’t erase them and their speech either

I'm all for free speech, but there is a difference when it goes into the hate speech arena. Le Pen is a person who has consistently dehumanized immigrants, Muslims, and Jews, and to me, that is completely unacceptable and should never be tolerated.
