For anyone who has spent days installing development libraries and tearing their hair out because Pip succeeds but the code does not work (until one uses the correct development libraries), this is something only Gaga (and possibly Chuck Norris) can pull off. I don’t know. That might be too esoteric, even for Gaga. (To do a complete topic drift, there’s a reason why functional languages and Lisp-like languages have not been mainstream successes the way imperative languages like Python, Java, Bash, and Javascript have been; they require a mindset a lot of programmers just can not become comfortable with) even more fun with your corporate firewall blocks Pip servers. and yes, Functional languages require a pretty major paradigm shift. It requires more thought before coding, whereas many Python and Javascripters just want to pip or npm a million small packages and glue **** they don't entirely understand together and hope it sorta works. And people wonder why there are so many security holes in websites. But I digress.

Corporate security officers won't be happy until its physically impossible to do any work. Then it really will be like a pure functional language.. impossible to change any state. Reactive programming is also very trendy and declarative UI with Flutter and Android (annonced this week) are getting hyped. So the functional paradigm is still used more or less. Also, I don't see pure functional programming working well in the industry anyway. Not enough people are trained. Engineers will code it easily but the maintainers won't. The amount of library is not enough etc. And I disagree with the little jab at the imperative programmers

As long as the corporate firewall allows a connection to gagadaily.com (GGD), all is good. If they ever block GGD, then it’s time to polish one’s resume. I’m not jabbing at imperative programmers. Just lazy ones that build cobbled together systems from packages and code snippets they don’t completely understand dynamic languages seem to attract more of these tho. 2School4Cool 6,448
Since this show is private, will we still be able to see the setlist, videos, etc.? I’m super curious to see what she does! Edit: Neverming, just found updates on instagram. It looks like she’s doing Enigma in an arena setting! https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/lady-gaga/2019/amway-center-orlando-fl-390d96f.html See The Best In Everyone
Haroon 49,685
I just hope it’s not filmed with a potato If it’s a software company then I’m expecting steady butter-smooth 4K footage
GenericPhag 143
I have a friend who was working the event and they let everyone who was working it see the concert. He posted some vids on his insta story and it looks like it was just Enigma but stripped down and in an arena. It was SUPER sparse, no set pieces. Like there was one of those Yamaha portable keyboards for when she played the piano level of stripped down. It was just her, her band, and some back up dancers..There were clips of her performing Paparazzi, Bad Romance, Born This Way, and Shallow.
