Hi Its Nicole 5,428
Yeah I saw this....it is so horrible I’m literally so disgusted. And Jimmy even laughed along too. Remember when Taylor performed New Years Day on this show in 2017, a song that wasn’t even a single, for Jimmy after his Mom passed away? Looks like that has gone to waste.... I somewhat like Desus and Mero, but ...this isn't the first time they've done this about women and this might be the final straw for me. Since it's a famous white woman, maybe the public (smdh) will wake up since they've ignored the ish these two have been saying about WOC for ages. It's always been low-key, shady ish too so if you point it out people say you are overreacting. Anyway, it may be a mild joke but it is still sexist and they have a history of this...and Taylor has body issues so I feel bad for her. *They deleted some tweets once they got their show, and I kind of wish I had taken some screen shots. i've literally never heard of them but i guess i'm glad lol

If two white men said a black woman had a fat ass and start laughing, I would be laughing too if it was true. When did we have to start tip toeing over every thing we say. Especially when it’s comedy or a joke. We should just make comedy illegal If I make my thoughts more concise, you won't get the full extent of them and they won't be understood fully. I knew that's what you were saying. And I'm also saying that there are plenty of people who take racial issues seriously, much more seriously than this, around here. It's those who say otherwise who get the negative reception. I just find it hard to believe that you would laugh if a black woman was the source of the humour considering you just said that people don't take racial issues seriously enough. Laughing at a black woman's natural body shape would fall under the subtle racism category, I'm sure. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for supporting the right to enjoy humour and I can laugh at controversial jokes as much as the next person. But laughing at people's body shapes is just not acceptable anymore in this day and age. Humour has also changed with the time. I've seen celebrity commenters take back stuff they used to say that involved laughing at celebrity's appearances because they realise now that these kinda comments can really hurt a person. It may be a harmless joke to many but to the one who it's said about, who could be going through body issues, it's what fuels an unhealthy relationship with their body all the more. Heidi Montag got surgery on her entire face after people laughed at what they called her "Jay Leno chin" and she now looks nothing like she once did and risked death by going through multiple procedures at once. We're realising now that comments about someone's appearance have consequences and we shouldn't be needlessly mean to get a cheap laugh.
JazzGa 14,611
Anytime men joke about womens' bodies, especially straight men, it makes them sound entitled and misogynistic. Women can make jokes about their own bodies but let's leave that to women, thanks. Like I wouldn't want anyone to see us when we play Heads up or Charade. Did you know: Vietnamese LMs make fun of Gaga's boobs all the time, calling them 'luffa' (a cucumber shaped fruit) among other things. I mean yeah I get that it's a joke but it's becoming so lame. It's one thing when you make jokes privately to your own friends, another when you make them as a public statement when you are on TV/the radio/YouTube. I think it's ok to make private jokes but classless to do it on a public platform. Also, I think it is possible to ironically embrace your fave's body flaws as iconic and spin the shaming into support (for example calling Rani Rodriguez "skinny legend" ironically/in support of her, when she is the opposite of skinny) My old cat is a tough man, but i cant deny the way he bites my hand and he stabs me, he grabs me by my heart <

To keep this short, I can see the difference between a joke and an attack. Maybe I am not as sensitive to things, but that’s just me. I just don’t understand where it’s acceptable to make fun of someone and when someone needs to be protected... like we drag trump and other celebrities through the mud, but we can’t joke about something simple as a booty. I just don’t understand where it’s acceptable to make fun of someone and when someone needs to be protected... like we drag trump and other celebrities through the mud, but we can’t joke about something simple as a booty. To me, the line is when it comes to appearance because you don't know what issues that person has. Women in particular, will have a lot more hang-ups because of how society holds their looks under a microscope and they're far more likely to get surgery to change as opposed to men who tend to just accept their imperfections. In my experience, I've found that making any joke about a woman's looks, especially her weight, leads to huge offence and sometimes tears. Especially when a woman's weight is exaggerated to say she's fat when she isn't, trust me, I've had that. It's not our place to say if someone should get a thicker skin when it comes to something so personal. It's like, to make fun of someone's personality is one thing because that's on them and they developed it of their own accord but your looks? They're what God gave you and you can't help the card you're dealt. Well, you can, but it's an expensive and dangerous route. So, laughing at someone's personality, fine, laughing at their looks, too far. Some people can laugh at themselves on any level but not everyone has that level of confidence. These men should've realised that insulting a woman's looks is a massive societal no-no. If they wanted to do it in private, fair enough, we can't police that, but on tv, where millions can hear it, including the girl you're saying it about? Not cool.
