gumzy3000 7,901
That’s great news but I also hope the government invests more into helping these immigrants attain education, English classes, and other resources that can make them integrate successful into Canadian society. trolly troll troll

Yeah... Fixing the housing crisis is imparative too. Absorbing more population when housing supply is in acute distress is a serious issue Canada's population grew over 500,000 last year Home builders cannot keep up despite very high home prices because Canada's strict zoning laws and slow approval processes slow the pace of construction In Toronto for example a new condo project can take up to 10 years to be approved
calmar 22,768
Yeah with the housing crisis going on, this just seems like another green light as the train heads straight for the concrete wall. But hey, I'd love to live in Canada provided it conquered a Caribbean island and I moved down there, since I hate cold and snow.

My wife an I planned to leave her parents basement and every single building in our city had no vacant apartment And when u see a basement or house up for rent by the time u see the ad and call it's taken My grandparents 110 year old house in Toronto is valued around $1.2M to $1.4M At least the new stress tests put in last year finally stopped prices from surging cuz it's so hard to qualify for a mortgage now but it made the rental market even more heated Seriously the 1950s saw faster population growth than this and housing wasn't so expensive. The government needs to do a serious sit down review of why housing supply can't keep up with population growth no matter how profitable it is to build In the US after 5 or 6 years of housing boom so much supply came in that prices fell by 2007/2008. Here in Canada 18 years of home price appreciation isn't fixing supply
