the second i heard the teaser, the aaaaaaa thing.... I knew I would love this song very very hard. That it could be my favorite song in awhile. I never knew it would be that successful..... I remember being like : my favorite song isn't even out in the world yet.

I remember expecting it to chart for like 2 weeks around the movie release date and peak at #61. I'm glad I was proven wrong.

I thought the trailer version would be super successful. When they released the live/movie version though I gave up all hope. I was actually angry at Gaga/WB and her team for screwing up so badly. Posting here to eat crow. I was VERY wrong and couldn't be happier about it.

Yes, bc I thought the movie would flop (before the first trailer came in :tony: ) and the soundtrack in general would smash :selena:  :vegas:

Honestly, when I first heard the ull Shallow at the movie premiere in Venice I liked the song very much, but I didn't think it as a hit. It grew on me later

I had no expectations for it at all. Gaga hadnt charted well for a good while (not that charts matter at all) but when it did well around the October/November period I was pleased. I didnt expect it to have thrived for so long though.

I thought it would win an Oscar and top the BB200. Look what happened :huntyga:

I knew it would win an Oscar, that’s for sure. Couldn’t predict it becoming a cultural phenomenon.

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

No, not really.

But the moment people started talking (esp the memes) about the trailer song online, i had a hunch.

Still didn’t think it would be THIS HUGE HIT though.

I always wanted Shallow to smash but I was never expecting it to. I thought it'd end up a cute Top 40 moment but she came throughhh

I never thought Gaga would get a #1 again. But Shallow exceeded my expectations. Even my parents who forgot who Gaga is know Shallow.

no not when it was released :selena:
But i was one of the only ones who thought it would go #1 in the US once it started to go #1 everywhere else :ally:

when I heard of it and how it was described I thought it would be a flop and I thought the movie would be critically panned and not received well by other audiences because it's gaga and because it's a remake of a movie that has already been remade a couple of times. So you can imagine how pleasantly surprised I was :huntyga:
