But among the 23 percent of adults — or nearly 1 in 4 — who spent the year in a celibate state, a much larger than expected number of them were 20-something men, according to the latest data from the General Social Survey. Young men also are more likely to be living with their parents than young women: In 2014, for instance, 35 percent of men age 18 to 34 were living in their parents’ home, compared with 29 percent of women in that age group. At the risk of stating the obvious, “when you’re living at home it’s probably harder to bring sexual partners into your bedroom,” Twenge said. I’m not a heterosexual but I can relate. I’m 24 years old. I have been single for 6 years now. The last time I had a sexual encounter was 3 years ago. And I honestly have no interest of being intimate with someone ever again. But of course, I’m suicidal, depressed, I have extreme social anxiety and I have been a ****ed up kid for years now. No, I think is because we are having a less social life. We are not successful. Which result in women and gay men wanting to date the best of the best. Which are not a lot of us lol. I, for instance, can’t communicate well with someone. I don’t know how to talk to people. I find intimacy with another person to be such a weird thing. I think that sorta can explain what’s happening, we are so busy with internet and stuff nowadays that we don’t feel so compelled to have sex, also, p.orn must have its share of guilt too. I see what you mean, I have seen several people being conservative af as of late but at the same rate, I’ve seen a lot of people being liberal af too, like, 10 years ago I just did not hear about open relationships, poliamorous people, and so on. I feel like both sides always were there (or maybe there are more liberals as people see other people doing stuff and they feel comfortable enough to be themselves) but did not have so much space to talk like they do now.
