It's just that Gaga has a brand, a certain style and a level of respect that she can't erase by working with wannabe reggaeton stars. I wouldn't be SO against it if Gaga's thing was urban music but she couldn't be further away from it. There's a lot of other artists she can work with if she wants to make a careless reggaeton bop. And while you're right about Gaga saying that at the end of the day pop music is meant to be fun, Gaga's always defined her own music as "weird pop with a twist".
