Bt1 5,213
Hope she burned her 5 grammy's, all criticism about her work is irrelevant after all their members are mostly musicians. Not that I agree with her. The problem is that critics interested in pop music should review pop music.
ryhanna 3,507
I think that's what she's aiming against; not criticism in general, but people who stop at nothing to attack her and tear her down. I don't know, I feel like she's been down the last few months and this is her dealing with it. Post-addiction situations, internal affair issues, media attacks- in a sense, I wouldn't doubt if she felt like crap after all that. I kind of want to cut her some slack, because while it is true that one should learn to take criticism rationally and fairly, I think everything avalanched on her at once. She's only human, is my best say on this. I agree, I think that's what she's trying to say.
monketsharona 64,605
She really needs to make that Act 2 : something like The Fame Monster ! A new beginning for her, a lot of sucess. We all need this to happen, Gaga as well...
Slayer 9,227
So much for "You can't have my heart and you won't use my mind"... She's completely let the critics take over her heart and mind now. I really thought she was made of stronger stuff. I hope she can bounce back from this. I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!

Miel 15,009
On the one hand, I see how she could be saying that the people who should be trusted as critics should also be artists, because they have a better working knowledge of how the craft works, inside and out. They've gotten their hands dirty with it. That probably would've been a much better way to say it. But how does she know that the critics aren't creative or artistic in their own time? I would bet that they are. They're just amateurs at creating, but they're experts when it comes to knowledge of music history, and what the trends are, and how to express their feelings about a song in a coherent way. They've got good taste. Most of Gaga's fans are like critics, then, because we're not all amazing musicians or pop stars like she is, but we love music, are creative in one way or another, and we like expressing our feelings and opinions about her art. So when she says that critics shouldn't be acknowledged when it comes to her art, she's also pretty much saying that her fans shouldn't be acknowledged, either. The statement itself places an unfortunate contradiction (the one that everybody's fervently pointed out already), and I agree she should have worded it differently. I still honestly believe she did not intend for it to be read as "you cannot ___ unless you were/are ___". 3 points in and ready for more
Brown Eyes 0
She makes it so hard to like her lol. EVERY other pop girl takes their flop with grace and class. Gaga herself used to be like that too when Judas and MTN flopped, no whining, no embarrassing lm.com/twitter rants/"Gaga Is Over" videos. No embarassing tweets begging fans to buy multiple copies etc. What happened to that classy, confident free b---h? Janet 1,417
making a post on LM.com isn't gonna make those critics go away tho :/ In fact, by showing how much it affects her, they'll just come at her again and again this is all so self-defeating
kwizard 0
some people in this thread have went borderline idiotic, enough the point that she is trying to get trough is that critics are just regular people with opinions, and that the fact that they are paid to give their opinions doesnt meant their opinion is right, or that it should be respected more, that we should make our own opinions ourselves and not base it on the GP, sales, or metacritic, AND that the only opinions she really cares about now, are those frome people with artistic brains, WILSON, MARINA, KOONS, ELTON, not from random people that got jobs in magazines, or a bunch of teenagers GOT IT NOW OR DO I HAVE TO EXPLAIN IT AGAIN? LaXian 25
Most of you are sh*tty LM's tbh! Seriously! Yes criticism is needed but the media ripping her apart is beyond criticism. I mean calling her and her work a flop ... That's ridiculous. Give her a break, it cannot be good for ones' soul to see people tear you and your work apart, even for someone who doesn't care about the critics, she's worked hard the past few months and gave you a flawless album and this is how you respond ... Gaga doesn't owe us anything yet she's still here for us but it seems some of you left her? Yes I don't always agree or understand everything she does or says but that's not what matters tbh ... Like I said. it's come to a point where it's beyond criticism and most of you aren't here for her?! Sh*tty fans you are! No wonder she doesn't visit GGD anymore. The Goddess of Love will slay in 2014 and you will deal!
Stefani328 321
I find nothing wrong with constructive criticism, I just don't like how the critics reviews are passive aggressive comments and attack her personally as a human being instead of the work she creates. Stefan 0
I'm beginning to wonder if all she studied about fame and pop culture were the good times.
MegaMiles 0
So our critique and the critique of critics are invalid because we aren't pop stars or famous musicians? Mess Her a--logy of criticizing what you don't understand (reading a French paper and not understanding French) was good, but it doesn't translate well to music because music is universal and transcends language.
