I don't think Max Martin is that open, as far as I know, he is very controlling. He wants his vision to prevail. Read the article The Guardian wrote about Robyn last year. She was meant to be what Britney Spears was, but she didn't want to be a "doll" on Max Martin hands so he dropped her.

I wonder what he thinks about Gaga.

A laid back, easy listening, pop album from Gaga, similar to 1989. I imagine the look of it being close to her on the AMA red carpet when she performed The Cure. She could still do very Gagaesque things with it, but It would definitely pander to the GP, and if she used some of the "relatable," writing she used for ASIB, it could go over very well.

It's just a thought that popped into my head while I was in the shower today, listening to 1989 =p

I get this but am also VERY against this idea and I think Gaga would be too.

I think if she’s going to go down a mainstream pop route it should be more of a 90’s Mariah-Whitney vibe... with pelvis-shattering dance beats and EDGE of course.

I can see that. 

To me, 1989 took current pop and mixed it with 80s influences. It was all light, but relatable. Style being my favorite song off the album, and possibly my favorite Taylor song. 

I think Gaga could do the same kind of idea, but with the 90s Mariah-Whitney vibe you're saying. I would love dance beats and edge, I mean you commented on my other post about heavy industrial music  I'm just wondering if she would actually go for it, since ASIB did so well. Reasons being, I think the relatable, human lyrics of ASIB is what made it and Shallow so popular. Today's music is, for the most part, shallow. It's just sex, drugs and beauty. I'm all about those things, but I'm also on overload with them. So when you say dance and edge, I feel like if she doesnt do the dark stuff I posted about in my other topic, she would only go as hard as Poker Face in those terms.

Some very valid a points (great to see some intelligent fans here!)

I think that the relatable, human direction that ASIB captured is something Gaga will definitely want to carry forward, but then again who knows what she’ll do. She always heads in an unexpected direction and I love her for it!

A dynamic album with the rawness of ASIB with some harder, darker more “Gaga” pops in there too is something that could work. I do miss her clever double-entendres and obscure references that she mixes with pop.
