The privatized portions of healthcare are faster than the government funded ones Vision Care, Dental, Chiropractors, prescriptions which are privatized and not part of the universal healthcare system are rarely slow or problematic The stuff that's part of the universal healthcare system like exams, surgeries, family doctors visits etc can be slow AF unless u have a life threatning problem and get put on priority list Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I was in between jobs at the time and, as you might know, healthcare is tied to your employment in the US. “Sucks” doesn’t even begin to describe the American healthcare system. I find it hard to believe China has healthier citizens than countries like Australia or NZ. I feel like the methodology is slightly flawed. Metrics like obesity are obviously is going to be less of a problem in poorer countries where people can't access food as readily. Same with depression, it has to be diagnosed, but if the person lacks the cultural acceptance and financial freedom to seek the diagnosis then the country's numbers look better. Yeah I'm not saying it's that's preferable I'm just pointing out the con Mind u conservatives in America exaggerate it when they say ppl die waiting for treatment cuz if u have something serious u get put in priority But for general stuff like let's say u go to ER with a severe flu or a broken bone that isn't life threatning... Stuff like that can take hours (depends on the hospital too) Non-life threatning surgeries like a hernia let's say can also take a long time.
