Oscar, Grammy, BAFTA, Golden Globe, Critics Choice, Satellite, Hollywood in Music Award Winner song. Already #5 (Hopefully to be #1), Shallow has done wonders to Gaga's career and is really appreciated by the critics and the public.

Honestly, Gaga's most important song in her entire catalogue. Stream it to take it #1

To be fair, her most important song is lowkey Bad Romance because without it she wouldn't be the star she is today and she wouldn't have gotten the chance to create a song like this for a movie either.

But get Shallow to #1 regardless because it deserves it and more :trollga:

It is part of her most important songs

But Bad Romance; Poker Face, Just Dance, Paparazzi and Born This Way made her legacy and where she is right now.

In my opinion her most important song is probably Marry The Night or something like that. But I’d have to agree that Shallow is Gaga’s most brilliant move yet. :vegas:

Oh, I'm just visiting-

I think it's Poker Face because no other song on TF would've given her the image she's had her whole career, this weird yet wondderful dance pop artist. If the single had been Music To My Eyes, IDKWLI, etc? Probably could've still smashed
maybe not idk

God no. A song she deliberately wrote to not be a Gaga song can never be her most important song :rip: She wrote that song for a movie she didn't write, for a character that, by her own admission, is nothing like her. How can that compare to her previous hits?

Edit: Don't get me wrong, I love the song, and I think some of the songs on the soundtrack are among the best she's ever recorded but I would never consider them the most "important" ones of her career. They don't represent her imo :oprah:

I don't think it's her most important but it's one of her best.

It's climbed up ten places in the UK chart to 11. I hope the US gets their number 1.

Globally it's her 3rd biggest hit (after Bad Romance at #2 and Poker Face at #1) since Born This Way (#4) did not succeed everywhere, was not really praised and was a bit (very) front-loaded. Shallow's got it all: huge acclaim, huge success, most awarded song ever

True. But Gaga still took great effort to emphasize that she changed up her songwriting for those songs not to feel like Gaga songs because Ally is nothing like her  That seems more important to me than one song detail.

Globally Just Dance did better than Shallow
