Joanne was good and I actually enjoyed it, but it pales a bit in comparison to ASIB. Joanne felt more like a draft compared to ASIB IMO. ASIB took a lot longer. She worked on it from 2016 when she was recording Joanne, up until polishing it this summer with the rest of the team, like adding the orchestra and other production touches. They didn’t start writing until after Joanne I thought? They had a large writing session from December to February or something that lasted 6 weeks and that’s when some of the songs were made.
