People that live in countries where gays get killed on the daily simply for being gay can't. I know that... But this is the US were talking about Unless u get a really conservative candidate that is dead set against gays (which there are some done get me wrong)... In general these days the Republicans are simply not as warm to LGBT as Democrats and they are more reluctant to force acceptance on Individuals who don't support them (such as the wedding cake for the lesbians Incident) But Republicans are not talking about punishing gays, most don't have plans to remove rights such as marriage rights etc Don't get me wrong, for the LGBT situation specifically Democrats are obviously a better choice but what I'm saying is Republicans are not such a big threat to the point that if someone doesn't wanna consider LGBT issues as the main swing factor in who they support that it should make it such a shameful thing

I know where I stand on the matter, and I'm honestly probably not well educated enough on the history of the system to speak more on it. Before Trump even ran for President, back when I was a Democrat I thought cities should be weighed less. I think California's and Texas' votes should be substantially decreased. Also, I just found out the other day that the census is based off of illegal immigrants too. How is that fair? I'm interested it see how Alabama's lawsuit goes. I can't comment about the census situation your talking about cuz I know nothing about it. This is the first I heard of it

I mean Andew Scheer isn't Trump at least I guess. I honestly haven't looked in enough detail to Andrew Sheers politics to be able to form a solid opinion yet I do know Trudeau has really annoyed me with the handling of the pipeline issues In western Canada and his reaction (or lack there of) when British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan essentially almost started an economic civil war with sanctions to punish eachother because of the issue He was clearly afraid of upsetting voters in the entire west so instead of stepping in that serious situation he let it play out which was weak and disposable Then he bought the pipeline with tax payers money at $4.5 Billion which was insane Either firmly be in favor of it and use legislation (which the Federal Government had available) to force British Columbia's illegal blockage of the pipeline so it can be built... Or if your not in favour of it take back the federal approval of the pipeline Don't spend a fortune of tax payers money on a project that was supposed to be built by the private sector and discuss the issue and "study the issue better" to see if it will go forward and risk spending that money for nothing He literally did not take a decisive decision for it or against it to one not upset anyone in Alberta/Saskatchewan or BC... That way both those in favor and those against the pipeline aren't upset with him He made a useless decision and a costly one just to avoid political heat I lost a lot of respect for Trudeau over his terrible leadership in the energy/infrastructure crisis in the west

As someone that knows a lot about economy I find that Extremely debatable The biggest boost to the economy under his presidency has been tax cuts and increased spending. It doesn't take a genius to know that boosts the economy But there's a reason politicians don't just go and do what he did. Long term you bankrupt a nation with spending and tax cuts you can't afford The US is running a deficit of 5% of GDP now which is practically unheard of during times when the economy is NOT in recession His tarrifs most experts agree do way more harm than good... As a bargaining tactic against unfair China I get it... But the general tarrifs like on steel for example make no sense Me personally the one thing that sometimes makes me favour a republican over a democrat is usually economic policies. But in this case Trump doesn't even have that in my books

There was a spread of only a few basis points between long term rates and short term rates not a good sign although recently the curve grew slightly again Although an inverted yield curve is not completely 100% infallible. One time it inverted which suggested recession and it ended up not happening (I think it was in 1966). But most of the time when it inverts a recession happens. It's one of the best predictors of recessions out there His tarrifs on steel and lumber also have hurt the auto sector and the home building sector (2 of the most important industries for economic expansions and creation of jobs) not to mention manufacturing in general has faced higher costs from higher steel and aluminum prices

It's not like a yield curve inversion accurately predicted more than 5 of the most recent recessions in the US.... oh wait... 3 minutes ago, Economy said: His tarrifs on steel and lumber also have hurt the auto sector and the home building sector (2 of the most important industries for economic expansions) not to mention manufacturing in general has faced higher costs from higher steel and aluminum prices Don't even get me started on the tariffs. While the short-term ramifications you mentioned are certainly bad, I actually think the more dangerous result of his actions will be the precedent. Essentially, he is utilizing America's current power as leverage to get the trade deals he wants.... which is all fine and dandy till you are no longer the world's main super power.
