The Political View Problem

DC

Featured Posts

Seriously, I’ve been on Gaga Daily for not even a year yet, and I’ve already had enough of the negativity revolving around what political views you have. I try to stay away from this because I’m not a political person, but I’m getting tired of getting bombarded by it almost everyday.

1. Being a republican on Gaga Daily is like a crime and you’ll get dragged by everyone just because you’re a republican. Now I’m not talking about me personally, because I’m DEFINITELY not one after what’s been happening lately, but not that’s not the point. Being a republican/Trump supporter doesn’t mean you agree with every single thing he does or plans to do, I’m sure a lot of you democrats didn’t like the many choices Hillary wanted to do for the country :triggered:

2. Being a democrat on Gaga Daily is like a rule you have to pass in order to have a social life on this website, like seriously :ohwell:

I know what you’re gonna say, you’ll be all like “Well why would someone be a Trump supporter after all the crap that’s happened.

Well guess what, grow up. Seriously, why do you absolutely have to care what people think? It’s their views, you have your own, and there’s point trying to change the way people think, because at the end of the day, there will always be multiple sides and different ways people think, peace out :staymad:

People should be free to hold any political opinion and should be able to criticise any political opinion as long as neither involves offensive views, such as racism, homophobia, etc. The whole point of politics is that people have different viewpoints, therefore it is necessary to discuss them in a civil manner and come to some sort of solution to issues which we face. I think that it's important in this modern world to understand a diverse range of opinions, and not to generalise supporters. For instance, not all Republican supporters are racist, and not all Democrat supporters are "snowflakes". I think the issue comes when people begin to label each other. I'm from the UK and I support Jeremy Corbyn, and I'm often labelled a "terrorist sympathiser" and "anti-Jewish" and it's crazy. I'm neither of those things. It's the stereotypical labels, I believe, which cause many problems in political discussions, and cause conflict and insults.

I may not be a republican in ANY way, but the hate for having a political view is absolutely absurd

You should hate the person for how awful they are, not their political beliefs

In the end we all die and life is too short to care about what people think:ohwell:

I personally am friends with people who are republican, democrats, liberal, and conservative and i dont force my beliefs on them and they don't either

I'm friends with a range of people with different beliefs too, and my family also. I just ask them not to talk to me about politics haha.

Exactly, this is what I’m talking about. People can’t handle people’s beliefs whether they actually care about it or not, it’s so ridiculous. Obviously you do my support the Anti-Semitism, so there you go. We all have things we don’t agree with that our supporters do, and that’s just life :vegas:

Have a good day

Well, I think we should hack voting records and round up everyone who voted Republican and LOCK THEM UP!

Then we'd live in a perfect non-GOP society.

Ugh my mind

I do agree that Republican does not equal Trump supporter.

However, my views on trump supporters will always be negative no matter what. If you support him, you ignore all the horrible things he has said/done. By ignoring some of those things, you are telling me you don’t care about women’s bodies and their consent, you don’t care about people with intellectual disabilities, you don’t care about the LGBT community, and you don’t care about the environment.

Being dunked on online for your moronic, conservative hot takes isn't oppression. Log off if you want to back a party committed to austerity, mass deportations, anti-queer policy, international imperialism, and the redistribution of wealth from the poor to the wealthy without receiving criticism.

You're not a victim. :laughga:

I think it's also important to give credit where credit is due. I oppose our Conservative Government so passionately, and I disagree with most things that they do. However, I do recognise their good things, such as charging people for plastic bags and phasing out diesel and petrol cars by 2030. Although I would probably never vote Conservative, I do agree with these policies. People have this weird misconception that you have to agree with everything that the party your support does, and disagree with everything that the party you oppose does.

I would say this is true, but it’s kind of not. A lot of my family is republican and they don’t agree with any of that. Almost my whole school was republican in 2017 and didn’t agree with this. What you are describing are just losers who happen to be trump supporters, and there are a lot of them, don’t get me wrong, but the majority of Republicans actually go against these, so don’t worry too much about this, very few republicans agree with the stereotypical view of republicans :D
