Trump to sign funding bill but will declare national emergency on border

Congress changes all the time. After Trump, Dems could be looking at a beautiful lead in the Senate. We only need 60 votes in the Senate to pass bills, that's only 10 away. We're in a hyper-partisan era but we won't be forever (6 years can change everything, and the next "change" is 2020). I understand the need to act, but we need to win the presidency first.

It would be nearly impossible for the Democrats to get a 10 point majority in the Senate, let alone 60 votes in the Senate in general given that no Republicans will ever vote for any leftist bill. Republicans have gerrymandered state districts and suppressed black and young votes to an extent that it would take an unbelievable, revolutionary surge to gain that sort of majority. It's not happening. 

The only way we win going forward is by refusing to compromise with fascists and using every trick in the book to ram through what we need to ram through. Period. Otherwise, we're all dead. Literally.

From 1959 all the way to 1969 Democrats have 64+ seats all the way up to 68.

From 1975 to 1979 Democrats have 61 seats.

It is very possible that we could see a swing like that after Trump. 1975-1979 was after Nixon.

THANK YOU. You cannot negotiate with politicians who refuse to accept something is even real. 

This is a global emergency.

The sad thing is the people who will have to suffer and adapt to the effects of rapid climate change the most haven’t even been born yet.

As early as 2011 Democrats had 57 senate seats. It's not impossible.

If you believe this then any Dem that is up against Trump will get your vote. 

If you want Climate Change to even have a chance at being a priority, a Democrat has to be President.
