monketsharona 51,157 Posted February 13, 2019 Share Posted February 13, 2019 Zedd and Lady Gaga have collaborated many times over the years, but the producer recalls being starstruck the first time he met the entertainer. “As somebody like me back then, an up-and-coming producer living in Germany in my parents’ basement making $20 a month, you would take any opportunity to speak to Lady Gaga,” Zedd — who partnered with Marriott Bonvoy to host a production and songwriting master class at Interscope Records on Friday — told PEOPLE exclusively at the event. I don't get why he keeps claiming he was a "bedroom producer" before working with her. Edit: As @monketsharona pointed out, it's probably because he already started working on ARTPOP in 2011. I thought in terms of 2013 but yeah. Edit #2: And as other have pointed out, his first project with Gaga was not actually ARTPOP but two remixes Thank goodness I don't mind admitting when I was wrong. My guess is that he was being hyperbolic and was referring to even before he started getting pre-Gaga EDM recognition. I used to listen to him all through high school (Shave It? lord almighty).
