I’ve said this since I came back to the forum a copuplw of months ago, but I’ll say again because I think it is important.

When it comes to digital platforms there’s no such thing as payola. There are pitches made by the labels/independent artists, most of them happen when:

1) the platform gets support from the artist (Gaga posting a link to a platform)

2) the project gets a good organic performance. 

In this case, Gaga got great placement since day 1 thanks to an amazing pitch done by her label. And most likely is getting new support by both platforms thanks to a new one.

So stop this payola non-sense, we’re living on the age of data and transparency. The platforms wouldn’t risk becoming the label’s money puppets. The project needs to makes sense to them, it’s all business.

Good glorious morning on this wonderful day after to all the fine folks in this thread!

We just keep witnessing Gaga making history, and we can't get enough of it.

I see everyone is having an opinion on Shallow's performance.

Here's a few other thoughts that just happened to coincide with mine -
