Andrew Moffat, assistant head teacher of Parkfield Community School in Birmingham, said he had been threatened in leaflet handed out by campaigners

I’m not surprised you made this thread...

On topic tho.. I’m muslim girl and I love and live for my gays or any part of LGBTQ community. I honestly do.

AKA we’re not all like that.

EDIT: “Around 400 parents, predominantly Muslim, signed the petition of objection”

So they’re not all muslims... Interesting you choose that as your thread title :oprah:

EDIT 2: I see the title is the same as on Daily Mail. I apologize for assuming you made it but I still stand by my thoughts that it’s wrong, click baity and provoking.

The problem with this world: religion still plays a big role in society. Religion is a personal experience, should never ever be some sort of constitution for how our society is constructed. It used to be like that. In the beginning of religion. Not today. We've evolved enough. Science was born.

Parent Fatima Shah pulled her ten-year-old daughter out of the school, saying it was ‘inappropriate’ and ‘totally wrong’.

Her daughter has now returned to the school, which is rated as outstanding by Ofsted, but she said she would continue to fight against the programme.

So basically I'll fight the programme, but let me make sure my daughter stays in one of the best ranked schools...

That's literally the title of the Daily Mail article.

Well it's a front page article on the Daily Mail so it's not really relevant who made this thread...

What she means is that you could've chosen a less click bait-y title given the fact that Daily Mail is a tabloid and that GGD is a place for equality and support. Posting it as it is could affect some users. You know what I mean...

Its Daily Mail sis... :coffee::gum:

Also that title on Daily Mail is just as ignorant and as click baity as this one on GagaDaily and it’s also wrong because majority of 400 can be 101 and the other ones may have different religion - they choose that title because they want to provoke..

If you actually read the article, you would find out that this school is situated in the city's Mulsim community, which makes the title not clickbaity at all.

‘It’s a Muslim community. He said all parents are on board with it, but the reality is no parents are on board with it.’

@L A D Y G A G
‘Children are being told it’s OK to be gay, yet 98 per cent of children at this school are Muslim.

My boyfriend is Muslim and his parents are more liberal than mine so not everyone should be put in a box. Though I agree that Islam is homophobic but the same goes for Christianity then.

Well it IS outrageous that Muslim people, who know first-hand what it's like to be discriminated against, are protesting a policy called "No Outsiders"... so that title makes perfect sense to me.

I agree with you. I identify as muslim myself and I do believe that it’s outrageous for muslims or any minority group to be this unaccepting BUT knowing GGDs history this thread will become another anti islam thread aka it will be full of hateful comments towards muslims. I’ll say it again - we are not all like that - there are muslims in here who are part of LGBTQ community. I’m not but I’m accepting it and I have NOTHING against ANYONE. I just think that the title is provoking and that’s it. Also you can agree or disagree with this but there are certain members who like to provoke people with and only make threads about negativity of Islam.

@hankhatesyouall notice how the article include the words "some" "predominantly"

Mr Moffat even concluded that its coming from a small number of people which happens to include SOME Muslims since its a Muslim Community. Title suggests otherwise so I think you know where the problem is.

We should not fall for the same trap that the article put up.
