dit 46,215 Posted January 29, 2019 Share Posted January 29, 2019 Billboard reports that an "offer is out" to Gaga to perform on the February 10 Grammy telecast, but she hasn't confirmed yet. While you'd think Gaga singing on the Grammys would be a no-brainer, there may be some politics at play. Recently, the Screen Actors Guild accused the Motion Picture Academy of "exerting extraordinary and unwarranted pressure on talent to hold them from appearing at other award presentations" -- which means some stars are being told that if they appear on other shows, they can't appear on the Oscars February 24. The Academy hasn't responded to this accusation. But as Billboard points out, Oscar voting begins February 12, two days after the Grammys, and, as the publication notes, "There's a big upside for the film studios to secure their song of the year nominees a big-budget performance slot two days before Oscar voting opens." Gaga and Cooper have yet to perform "Shallow" live on TV, though they did sing it together live for the first time this past weekend onstage in Las Vegas. Accordingly, whichever telecast lands the first live TV performance of the duet will give viewers a huge reason to tune in. Copyright © 2019, ABC Radio. The Academy hasn't responded to this accusation. if this is true, then I guess it doesn't really affect gaga right? so she can perform at the grammys because the oscars would be IDIOTS to disallow gaga a performance on their show, it's basically ratings suicide. as for which song she should perform, it's up to her tbh, everyone basically knows majority of the songs from the soundtrack anyways. ASIB has been snubbed in major awards on GG, BFCA, and SAG. I would rather want Bradley to also go to Grammys than BAFTA. He has bigger chance to win the 'G' from EGOT than winning in BAFTA.
