Not gonna like, the possibility of Gaga losing the Best Actress award has been 

ever since Awards Season began. But while the sadness and solemnity will 

through the site in the days following the Oscars, we must rejoice in the fact that Shallow is coming to ensure that Gaga will win an Oscar for the

I thought the Best Actress Oscar was basically forgotten   we can rejoice for the nomination, more than that is delusional. It's not even deserving to other actresses, specially Glenn Close.

 

Best Original Song IS her Oscar. Really, I don't understand why fans are so focused in the Best Actress that the Best Original Song is practically forgotten in every discussion. That is the Oscar we should expect, and if she loses it there will be the biggest meltdowns. Shallow has been claiming every award, not getting the Oscar will be controversial.

^ This. The fact Gaga was mentioned as a contender from Day One is extraordinary. Why can't we enjoy the positive aspect to all of this? LG is a credible, highly-acclaimed, respected, nominated, award-winning ACTOR. No one can take that away from her. I bet she would say this last two years has been the absolute pinnacle in her life.

And....she genuinely loves Glenn Close, so it could not be sweeter for Gaga. Let it go.

I really don’t understand this logic. Is Gaga not nominated for Best Actress? If she is, then I don’t see why anyone who likes Gaga’s performance (or any of the other three women beside Close) can still be rooting for them. Why let it go when she’s still in the race? I already said Glenn is winning. But upsets do happen from time to time. You just really never know.

Nothing is really locked in with the Oscars. I know it can often seem that way, but the Oscars often leave us blindsided with their decisions so it really is anyones game. Glenn is definitely the frontrunner though, which is deserved. Gaga and Colman could potentially win, but it's less likely.

Nothing is certain with the Oscars. This award season has been crazy with its inconsistencies. That being said, I honestly would like to see Glenn win the Oscar because 1) she's a legend, and 2) I worry that Gaga will get backlash for "stealing" the Oscar of such a legendary actress, but that being said, Gaga winning is not out of the realm of possibility. I've pointed this out before, but in previous Oscar ceremonies when there were multiple strong competitors, the votes were split, and the obvious choice wasn't necessarily the winner. A tie would be absolutely ideal.

However, Gaga had better win Best Original Song, or the gays will riot in the streets.

OT: I don't expect her to win best actress, and even though I wish she would, I'm fine with the fact that Glenn is taking it, because imo ANY of the nominees are deserving this year.

On the other had, if Shallow doesn't win, I'm gonna to need to attend to a psychologist again.

Shallow has been favorite to win ever since it was out. It is everywhere right now and it won every precursor it's been nominated for. That's more of a sure thing than the category where it has always always been a 3 way race between her, a veteran and an underrated (in the US) brilliant british actress. Close became the clear frontrunner when she took sag. No one is stopping her even if she loses BAFTA! 

You gotta let that thing go! She did on her first role what many better and more experienced actors couldn't do, just ask Emily Blunt. If a random performance at Vegas got that much buzz, imagine what a rehearsed performance at the oscars will do. Her sales will skyrocket (both album and songs), she'll look fantastic with that trophy in her hands. Just be grateful for that!
