I would say “no that’s ridiculous!”. Why? Because you can’t just make overarching, generalized statements about a multi-faceted group of people and claim them to be true. It’s wrong to do no matter what your political affiliation is... I see both sides doing it, and it needs to stop!

 

This isn't the same thing at ALL.

Bill Clinton did not run a political campaign BASED off of infidelity and his entire political focus in the WH had no connection to this... Infidelity is not a systemic belief or effect that is translated into legal and social bias. It's a single act. Racism is a system of interactions, effects, beliefs, thoughts, actions, that IS transferred between legal and social spheres.

Donald Trump DID run a campaign with overtly racist overtones and literal words, generalizations about people of certain races and ethnicities. If you saw Trump campaign in 2015, you saw that he was racist unless you are blind or racist yourself.

If you chose him over Hillary because... emails or whatever else you were persuaded into thinking was wrong with the most qualified person to ever run for president, or even over other Republican candidates who weren't as racist because he had the best chance of winning,  you are still Complicit in Racism. It means you decided that his racism, or even his potential racism and the way it might turn into policy, practice, etc. was not as important as .... idk "draining the swamp" --- "making America Great Again" or whatever actual campaign policy he ran on, cause there wasn't much substance. Getting rid of brown people (immigration) is also a part of racism, so yeah.

Complict acceptance is not just "acceptance" but it is a kind of acceptance. You've actively decided NOT to fight it, or to be inactive in fighting it when you had the power to prevent it, thus allowing it to occur.
