I am still mad "Come to Mama" didn't feature Father John Misty

I mean, the slayage

Their voices match so perfectly  Especially on this track.

The only flaw Joanne had for me ...

And their chemistry is just real!

I read the title as "female genital mutilation' even though it's a "J" :messga:

Is that work tape real? His vocals are good :music:

Yeah I always thought that Come To Mama was more of a FJM not really a Gaga song so it would’ve been better either as a duet/feauture or on FJM’s album

Off topic but a similar thing also happened with Hey Girl where it’s supposed to be a nice chill song, which it is, but Florence isn’t really the artist for that. I feel like maybe if she’d had more time to do Joanne it would’ve sounded 10x better and been more sonically and thematically cohesive

✨oh the lights dim while we’re dancing yeah the floor is shaking in this disco heaven✨

Same, I can't believe Gaga didn't work more with Father John Misty, he's one of the greatest.

She worked with the greatest for Joanne, kind of disappointed that they didn't go further :(

I definitely agree with that. I feel that Million Reasons would have been so much better if it was more like the Royal Variety performance and the Joanne song would have been better if it was the piano version all along. I feel like some of the songs don't pack the punch that she was aiming for and it's like she added the correct emotions later on in other performances and I wish she'd done the same thing for the studio album. It just seemed to be too rushed, to me.

Me too. Though I did love and enjoyed Joanne. It was rushed cause she scrapped her original idea for LG5.

Does it matter? Damage is done

Well, she does that with almost all of her songs, doesn't she? Just think about Dope or Gypsy live

Yes I know that but fans still end up loving the studio versions. Million Reasons had fans pissed off it was a single and got a video for it. But if it had been better executed from the start, we'd still be loving it but many fans have sort of forgotten it now because it's a bit of a meh song. (Not speaking for everyone, just going by how it seems based on how this fanbase talks about it).

Well, I guess we have Gaga to blame for that :chica: I mean, she basically hired him to wrote songs for her, she didn't ask to write on a duet together, the choice was definitely hers on that one.

I don't know, I have mixed feelings about that whole Gaga hiring songwriters idea. It feels opposite to her "I write my own songs" philosophy that she always brags about. After ARTPOP I thought that would be over but it seems to just continue and I don't understand why tbh.

Same. It bothers me. I believe in her as an artist and I just want her to express herself with her own songs. I can't really listen to Come to Mama because it's just so obvious it's not come from her. She's supposed to put her own heart and soul into her work.
