Which Song is More Successful?

I personally think Shallow is. It has been #1 on the iTunes WW chart for 76 days already, reached #1 in more countries, went Platinum in less than 2 months, nominated for 4 Grammys, and won a Golden Globe.

I feel like Applause will, in the end, have more longevity. It's one of those songs that will be continuously in use on shows like America's Got Talent etc., it's that perfect tv background song and I've seen it used on Belgian shows, of all countries, like 20x already since its release

I think Shallow is having its moment now and it might become a karaoke duet classic but I don't know... I think there's something so "un-Gaga" about it that it might fade faster because of it After some more pop singles being released by her I don't think people will remember that song as one of Gaga's big ones, you know what I'm saying?

In the Hot 100 overall, Shallow. In the Hot 100 comparing the performance of the songs of that style during their periods, the difference is not that big anymore.

In the UK, Australia and Canada, Shallow. In asia probably Applause.

In my local radio Shallow, but from what I've seen in other countries, this has not been the case

so it's not really an easy to answer question, but what played the bigget role and made me decide for Shallow is that, compared to the expectations, although objectively they did similar, Applause flopped and Shallow smashed

The better question is, what song is more succesful, Shallow or All the stars?  Since thats our only competition at the Oscars. (And Grammys)

Shallow for sure, All the Stars only did better on the radio, but Shallow charted WAY better

Applause is more "Gaga" than Shallow, more recognizable and more popular. Also Applause sold WW a lot (I think 5 million)

1. Shallow peaked at #5(till now) ATS peaked at #7.

2. Shallow was a worldwide success and hit #1 in a lot of places, while ATS is more local.

This is true, everytime Shallow and ATS are nominated, Shallow wins. Except for the Hollywood Awards Show, since there were 2 separate categories for Original Song and both won.

I can’t believe some of you are saying that Applause will be more remember than Shallow.. Shallow is a Golden Globe winning song. It’s probably going be a Grammy winning song. And a DAMN  OSCAR winning song. This is without counting all the other awards the song has won.

There's no way that Paparazzi is tier B, at least not here in the UK.

More people know Paparazzi here than Alejandro or even BTW.
