Kit Harington once said the final season would change the way we look at television series.

And after this final episode, I completely agree with him:

this was the most idiotic, nonsense, unbelievably unnerving,  appallingly bad-written and just stupid piece of television the world has ever seen. A complete shitshow, a waste of time, potential and talent.

What a time to be alive, people. What a time.

I understand people's frustration but the finale was far from being " the worst ending of all time for a series". Daenerys is the reason I began to show and I will always be a huge Dany supporter. Yes I agree that the way they sped through her descent into " grief" ( I refuse to say madness) was rushed. I have also felt on the verge of tears the past 24 hours knowing that she died and have had approximately 5 break downs:messga: However, the episode itself wrapped the show up well, mainly if you're a Stark fan ( which I'm not). Anyways Arya ended her storyline being herself and wanting to explore the world, Sansa got the North, and Brienne was able to commemorate Jaime. Yes Bran becoming King is a shock and a slap in the face to Daenerys who spent her entire life working her way up to take the Throne, however it does make sense. Bran is able to look to the past to see what methods of ruling is successful and what to avoid. He can also somewhat see into the future to know if they are making a mistake. As for Jon, yes he never really had a big moment the entire season, and it is frustrating he ended up right where he began. However it is what he wanted. He never wanted to be King, he never wanted to be in the South, and as he told Tormund in ep4 " I wish I was going with you."

There were some loose ends but we have to look to Game of Thrones as a whole and see the entire journey it has taken us on. Somehow this book series, that many claimed was impossible to adapt in a tv show, became the greatest and most successful tv show of all time. No matter what the ending was, not everyone would be satisfied, and in general this sadness is caused by our disbelief that this journey is over. I will always feel upset about how Daenerys' story ended after following her both in the series and the books for years, however the show runners were able to make this adaptation possible and bring it to levels that no other show has, and will in a very long time. The anger many of us feel is all attributed to how amazing the show really was, because it caused us to think critically and grow close to these characters to a point that no other tv show has done. Despite the flaws, Game of Thrones has produced the most incredible scenes ever produced, beautiful music, amazing visuals and an overall sense of community among millions of fans around the world, and this is how I will always remember it.

Daenerys deserved to die. But poor Drogon. It's not his fault his mon was genocidal.

There's also the fact that this episode was largely boring. Some of the scenes just dragged on and were undeserving of a season finale, let alone the series finale.

That Council scene was so idiotic with talks of brothels. Bronn doesn't deserve to be there. And they didn't even show Sam upset at Jon essentially being exiled.

Also, it left another sour note how the foreigners (Dothraki and Unsullied) were basically depicted as savages.

This petition is indicative of how far into entitled, babyish narcissism we have descended. It’s perfectly OK to say "I don’t enjoy this" & give constructive criticism. It’s another thing entirely to say "it should be made exactly as I wish because you didn't play out my fan theory I read on the internet." It's just the lazy internet equivalent of a three-year-old having a tantrum and stamping their feet.

It appears we are devolving as a human race into more levels of stupidity. These petition signatories aren’t storytelling professionals and don’t know how to make a TV show or a film. And the petitioners all probably want different outcomes to each other anyway. You want to sign a petition? Find one about the inhumane legislation in Alabama. Or Climate Change. Or the decline in biodiversity.

Well some people are die hard fans (stans one might say)... but the quality drop is obvious this season. It's not about the way it ended rather the events that led to such an ending. It all felt rushed, anticlimactic and empty.

Devolving as a human race is a valid point tho but it doesn't apply to this context. :vegas:

The real question is where Drogon took Dany.

The fact that Bran, the person who knew genocide will happen and did nothing was elected king doesnt make any sense.

I loved the episode. Everything got wrapped up and everything. Its exactly how GRRM wanted it to end so even if we got the books first, its how it ended.

Everyone is upset at the execution of S8. Not the story line.

Omg GoT fans on twitter are dragging both Sophie and Emilia regarding the Sansa vs Dany fight and it's looking so ugly how old are these fans? It's okay to fight about characters and writers and all that but how can you blame the actors for a role they were required to play on a television series? Make it make sense? I saw some death threats go Sophie's way and some of them had Gaga avis :messga:
