And now my watch has ended. 

 

Someone posted a cartoon alternate Disney image ending on twitter, with Jon on a wooden chair, Dany beside him, 2 little children, 3 little dragons,  4 little direwolves, and 1 Tyrion.  [Awe so cute] So, now both endings are part of my show experience.

This is why fanfiction exists. This disappointment you feel?  That feeling of disbelief and annoyance and anger? The need to rant and make an ending something you want that satisfies you? 

That's what fuels fanfiction. Beneath all the crappy cringey fanfiction comes a superbly written one and that is what I am looking forward to now.  I don't have hopes for the books to have a better ending because George R R Martin will probably finish the books when we have LG10.

I tried to avoid spoilers so the ending was OK for me.  But I did know Bran will be king because... I guess I did read some spoilers.

I haven't watched in full this episode and I don't want to. 

The fact that I am a huge GoT fan and I had 0 hype for the finale 

The fact that this has 0 replay value, who will watch the series again after that ending? 

Danaerys deserved better The fact that she lost everything just to help the f king Starks just to die but she didn't even die like a hero, she died like she was evil and by a miracle all the Starks lived and had happy ending. 

Drogon didn't killed Jon who just killed drogon's mother, yea ok but this predictable show just want Jon Snow alive and everyone else dead and not only dead but everyone (like Dany) being evil but Jon being the hero, I am gonna throw up

I'm gonna pretend that Drogon went Dany to Meeren and someone brings her back to life and then comes back for revenge and kill everyone 

Bran being the f king king? 

Trash, trash, trash ending! 

The only good thing is that some idiots that wanted Dany dead will be fuming that Bran is the king and not their beloved guy, Jon. This is very satisfying

Disappointing, garbage.

Cliche's, Disney Endings, Character Arcs massively unresolved, unearned deaths/kills, unrealistic symbolic scenes and gestures that betray the entire series,  Out of character behavior by several characters, the retconning of the Cersei + Jaime being crushed by the entire building to making it look like they got conked by like 2 bricks each and just had to stand to the right just for Tyrion to have his moment. The show began and end with a patriarchal, primogeniture based system ruled by an incapable man and a slew of other incapable people around him and it ends that way. All the women rulers were crazy for wanting power and now a bunch of unsatisfying and somewhat boring characters (at least how they behave in S7-S8 especially) are still playing by the same system, and now they just... pick a council/ruler? It's a very very modest improvement, and the "well what do we do now? just throw things to the wall and see what sticks?" attitude at the end feels like a really lazy trope that I can't think of the name for. They might as well have installed a legit democracy right there. 

And before you "it wasnt supposed to be a happy ending, just because you aren't happy with who won doesnt mean it was bad aefkwlfa" me, It's not just the ending, its how it got there. Those lazy ****ers checked out in S7 and it showed, they were offered 10 seasons, then 2 10 episode seasons for 7 and 8 after the initial 73 episode pitch, but they declined because they were lazy and tired of the show. The show deserved better. The characters deserved better. The actors did the best they could with what they were given, Emilia deserves an Emmy for this season, it really was all about her and she sold every scene. Some of her best acting in her career by far.

I probably won't be rewatching any of it ever again, it was that bad for me.

Might read the last two books but i mean I'll either be dead or GRRM will be before that happens so I guess this is all we got.

It's honestly sad reading this cause you're so right. I never thought Game of Thrones would end so badly, I've been a fan since the first season came out and I feel like I've invested so much into the show. I really hope the next project for D&D which is supposedly Star Wars flops.
