I hate D&D even more. It's clear that once they got the Star Wars gig (for whatever reason), they just wanted to rush the series.

To be clear, I'm disappointed in the execution and not the larger narrative endpoint we arrived at here. Daenerys was always going to go insane. I've never understood her hardcore fans: she's always been power-hungry and brutal. The showrunners just didn't communicate effectively when she really snapped and what caused her to, and the roughly five minutes they allotted for the sequence involving her destroying the fleet and the ballistas relative to the forty minutes set aside for the fiery destruction of the city was ridiculous. Very few of the payoffs actually worked. Cersei's death felt anti-climatic, Arya came off as incompetent by inadvertently getting that mother and daughter killed, and the ease with which Daenerys destroyed the city's defenses after losing a dragon to the same exact fleet just last episode AND with half of her own army gone made little sense. Illogical plotting, lackluster character work. Not great.

This show was always about strategy and scheming, a representation of the insidious nature of political systems driven by aristocratic self-interest rather than solidarity for the masses. They threw that out and went with spectacle instead tonight and, “shockingly,” it didn't work.

Jaime Lannister saying he doesn't care about millions of innocents despite the fact the killed the Mad King to PROTECT those same innocents not too long ago.

Jesus Christ. :fail:

i liked the episode. i'm surprised a lot of people hate it. the one gripe i have is dany's character growth over the last few episodes. i know there is a sort of build up to where she is now psychologically, but there really is a kind of surprising escalation about it that takes place rather quickly. for example, dany killing all the innocent people as a means toward an end, in other words, to do it in order to take the iron throne is one thing, but to kill all those people for sport and after a surrender for good measure, that's kind of weird. you can make the argument that that's how a psychotic break looks like, and i guess you'd be right?

After all that, that's how they killed off Cersei? Wow...talk about an anti climax.

i've been in a mental hospital for like a year (not now but last year) and i can't say i've ever seen anyone have a "psychotic break" quite like that.!! :lmao:

I can't, like what the **** was that episode? I'm so dissapointed. All the character deaths were anticlimactic, Cersei deserved an iconic death. Season 1-6 were brilliant, they weren't perfect but holy **** it's like watching a different show all together this season.

That's some weird double-standard BS Haroon, but okay. Film/TV industry is okay to pirate, but Gaga's isn't. Gotcha. Even if some international channels don't have HBO as freely, it's still weird to me that some are allowed and some aren't.

What a lame send-off for Varys. The man who orchestrated so much of what happened in previous seasons killed off as if he were an irrelevant tertiary character, all because he (somehow) let himself be caught after writing a letter. God. They really blew it.

It doesn't even make sense why he would betray Daenerys , he orchestrated Viserys and Danny to be sent to Essos so they wouldn't be killed by Robert.
