Smother Em Eh 7,135
Which pop girls music is more universal? Meaning a more diverse discography that appeals to a wide audience rather then just gay pop loving stans. Gaga does have BTW & Joanne. BTW is different and diverse & Joanne is a funk/ rock/ country pop album. Madge has American Life. But whose music is more Universal?! Get Applause & G.U.Y to 1B views! Guest
Britney music is for everyone, Gaga and Madonna have some more avant garde music that the g.p. don't really look for
aaron l 11,999
Gaga has hit more genre's than the other 2, but Britney is the most GP friendly.
FfFfFfFF 56,127
Britney is the one that stayed the closest to the pop song canon. Madonna and Gaga have that but also ventured in more a experimental direction on certain tracks.
That J 12,166
I picked Madonna for the following reasons: She has more music. Most of her songs are radio friendly and loved universally. She is loved universally. I love Gaga obviously but when I think universal and theres songs like Bloody Mary, Government Hooker, the ARTPOP album... those songs are my faves but not for everyone. Not that every Madonna song is perfect but if you've been making music for 30 years, you are going to be more universal. Bonkers 29,588
The fact that Madonna's biggest hits are now "oldies" ...it makes them nostalgic to a wide range of people. Vogue, Like a Prayer, like a virgin (I never noticed before two of her biggest songs start with "like a", weird.) This is the first time since 2010 I've said anything nice about that old queen. derpmonster 22,412
I'm from a non English speaking country. Most people know Madonna and Gaga, not Britney as much. Britney is big in the US but she sort of got the fad pop act treatment in many countries. Madonna has a greater legacy but Gaga has more respect. Universal is hard to define. Across genres, it's Gaga. I know 70 year Olds who didn't like Madonna in their day who love Gaga. I've seen old people say they're Gaga fans on the internet. Even IRL. My boyfriend's grandmother said she loved Gaga's Thanksgiving special even though she doesn't like loud music. Britney has more basic GP friendly music but it's hardly universal because it's all just the same.
