Always. My anxiety usually sky rockets, I get extremely sad and overwhelmed. I’m not why it happens but it’s been like this for the past few years. This year was a bit easier, just stayed home with my dog and watched movies so I wasn’t as stressed and down.

You’re not alone, we’re all here for you!

This all goes into a deeper issue.

Days go by, we just announce one over another. Yes it is a new year which also means yes...you are seeing time go away and seeing yourself becoming older. I've done this for almost 40 years but I choose to find it poetic. It's a beautiful thing if you embrace it.

Just like you would never hide yourself from yourself...never hide the fact that you are awake and aware and watching yourself grow stronger and wiser...and older.

It's a good thing.  Xoxo

I’m very depressed over the new year. I’m scared for it but I guess I have to wait to be proven wrong or ****ed over.

Well there is a disorder called SAD or seasonal affective disorder. This is fairly common and starts from Fall to Winter.

Holidays is also during these months and it is fairly typical for some people to feel mild depression,  lack of energy , and moodiness during these times.

Google it for more info.

But basically they try to explain it and said it's caused by lack of sunlight and hormones. Just make sure to go out and get lots of sun and fresh air and relaxation!

I also feel depressed randomly throughout the year and I downladed this app called Daylio to keep track of my moods.  I try to do it every-day and I set up a time on my phone,  it pops out and I just rate the day using a series of smileys.  It helps me keep track why I am feeling depressed for no reason. So far,  I pinned it down to hormones.

I do psychology at school so I'm gonna explain this to you guys for no apparent reason other than revision for myself:ladyhaha:

so as humans we all have many biological rhythms, such as circadian rhythms which occur every 24 hours. an example of this is the sleep-wake cycle. Usually this work so that

1. when there is low light, your optic chiasm processes this and triggers your SCN, which is an endogenous pacemaker

2. the SCN stimulates the pineal gland to release melatonin, and when that is released it also releases serotonin which decreases our brain activity and makes us sleep.

Usually this process is normal and functional, BUT

in the fall and winter months, we get less sunlight and the days are shorter, which interferes with our circadian rhythms, so you could get irregular hormone excretion such as melatonin when it isn't necessary, resulting in low mood and even depression

I get it too, and anxiety.

it’s not the weather for me cuz in this side of the world is summer :vegas:

It’s just, the realization that time is passing by and it feels so fast, and I haven’t accomplished anything! My life is an embarrassment, and I’m getting so old. But there is to hoping this one next year might go better. But I don’t know, I can’t celebrate it as carelessly as I did as a kid anymore, it doesn’t mean something so good anymore, same with my birthday, for me just means I’m getting older and older and wasting my life

I’m so sorry you feel this way. I cannot personally relate to the depression and anxiety, but I have been surrounded by those who suffer from it my entire life, and one thing I can assure you is when you hit rock bottom, the only place left to go is up. That may sound cliche, but it’s the truth. Hang in there, I promise things will get better for you. I’m sending you lots of love and happiness.

I think I like when things are normal and the holidays freak out my system. Stores are open later and then they close on holidays. People are out of town. Everyone is in high stress mode. My favorite days are the ones after holidays, it’s relaxing to me to have people get back into a routine.
