Isn't that obvious that they'd push Shallow? C'mon now. It is basically the official theme for the movie.

And the new National Anthem of the United Kingdom. Sorry Liz :selena:

Do you think WB is a little worried about Vox Lux or Mary Poppins or some other film becoming competition for that category?

There were 3 songs from Dreamgirls(2004) nominated for Best Original Song in Oscars that year and none of them won in the end. :huntyga:

"Listen"

"Love You I Do"

"Patience"

I don't want this situation happen to ASIB.

More nominations do not always mean a good thing, especially when they are in the same category.:interestinga:

But Jennifer Hudson won an Oscar for her role at least.

I wouldn't say WB are worried - they just have a lot of competition in a year where music based films are popular.

you can serve it to me ancient city style...

But why would they? I mean, ARUTW and INLA could become the "I Will Always Love You" of this generation with promo and an Oscar, they're way more listeneable than Shallow (IT'S STILL A GOOD SONG, I'M NOT ASSUMING ANYTHING), just think  about ARUTW being in top 10 without having any kind of consideration

I didn't choose Gaga, Gaga chose me

only two songs from one film can be nominated; the rule was changed after Dreamgirls and Enchanted both lost best song with 3 nomination 2 years in a row

Bradley wont want to sing at the Oscars, so I think the only way for her to perform now is a medley with Shallow being part of it.

Maybe Bradley will surprise me and do Shallow but I doubt it.

Probably the best thing for them to do is play it cool and not try too hard, we all know it bites us in the butt in the end.

It certainly helps that Shallow was a top5 hit in the US, not many Oscar best original song nominees can say that.
