Well, I didn't buy Born This Way (the single) when it came out. I'd get it anyways when I buy the entire PHYSICAL album (I don't buy digital albums, so, in essence, the Complete My Album feature means nothing to me). I didn't buy Hold It Against Me either, I got the song when I purchased Femme Fatale.

I'm not fond of buying singles if I'm just gonna end up buying the whole album anyways.

I realize the whole "I'm going to get the whole album later" thing, but I think it's important to buy your faves lead single especially if you want them to do well on the charts.

But that's just me :nails:

1 digital download out of 448K is not that much support. :laughga: But then again if all fans had the same mindset as me, the single wouldn't have sold as well so all the more power to you!

Payphone tops the 4 million mark in digital sales in the United States.

KILL ME. :rip:

Maroon 5's previous hit, "Payphone" (featuring Wiz Khalifa), dips from #7 to #8. The song reached the 4 million mark in just 19 weeks. Only one song in digital history has reached 4M faster. "E.T." by Katy Perry featuring Kanye West was in its 18th week on Hot Digital Songs when it topped 4 million. Two other songs crossed the threshold in their 19th week: "Somebody That I Used To Know" and "Call Me Maybe."

"Payphone" is the fourth song to top the 4 million mark in 2012. This is the fourth year in a row that four or more songs have topped 4 million in sales during the year, but this is by far the earliest in the year that this has happened. In each of the last three years, it took the Christmas holiday season to push the tally of 4-million-sellers for the year to four or more.

The same songs roll around radio and digital, plus there is huge support from their labels and the heightened awareness of people on digital purchase.

With all these considered, I have no doubt some of them will outsell the Born This Way single.

No.

Taylor's video not bad. Not her best but the video fit the song and wasnt a 14 minute boring ass video. So. :troll:

Are you kidding? That video was almost insulting. Granted, it's way more watchable than Onika's videos.

I saw it coming. That song has been w****d out on radio forever. It's not even that good but hey, more power to her.

If Hollywood isn't as stupid as they normally are, they'd put out "Unbroken" as the next single and keep the momentum going so that she can have another single on radio in Q4 while she's on X Factor.

Yeah, Unbroken is definitely very radio friendly and was the most popular song when the album was released. I'm guessing Hollywood will be as stupid as they normally are, though

"Fix Your Heart" was the most popular non-single, actually, but ballads are always risky business on radio.

Hollywood is stupid if they don't realize the possibilities they have with Demi. Not only did she get her first charted single on pop radio this era with "Skyscraper", she's about to get a #1 hit with "GHYAB". To not put out a third single would just be absolutely NONSENSICAL. Especially considering we're approaching the holiday shopping season (and she could definitely use some album sales).

Hmm I'm just going off memory, but you may be right. I know Unbroken was up there on iTunes and enough to chart on Hot 100.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure she will either have to release a third single or release a new single off a new album. She needs material to perform on X-Factor...

I actually like Demi Lovato, she's the real talented from all those Disney's singers.

Very happy that her 2nd single is doing good, she deserves it. :)

That is correct.

On radio at least.

Song is still #30 on iTunes :coffee:

Yeah it's really sad...

Actually, to be fair, the only reason it's #1 is because Katy Perry and Ellie Goulding dropped below it... Whistle will sneak passed Demi soon.

I can't believe that a song that never reached the top 20 on Digital Songs is a #1 pop radio hit :deadbanana:

That means there could have been some hope for "Marry the Night" if we didn't spam radio stations :ohno:
