ASIB songs that remind me of other artists

PSYCHOSHTICK

PSYCHOSHTICK

The soundtrack (which is amazing) clearly takes a lot of inspiration from classic artists and a whole lot of different genres. And I'm loving it. These are the songs that remind me of other artists:

Black Eyes - Dan Auerbach/Black Keys, Metallica [hard-rock]

La Vie En Rose - Edith Piaf (ofcourse), Judy Garland [jazz]

Maybe It's Time - Blake Shelton [soft country]

Always Remember Us This Way - Elton John [pop]

Look What I Found - Stevie Wonder [funk/soul]

Heal Me - Ariana Grande [synthpop]

I Don't Know What Love Is - Michael Bublé [jazz/soul]

Why Did You Do That - Ariana Grande/anybody on the radio right now [teen pop circa 2018]

Hair Body Face - Britney Spears/Ariana Grande/anybody on the radio right now [teen pop circa 2018]

I'll Never Love Again - Whitney. ****ing. Houston.

Spoiler

Songs that I can't seem to categorize

Alibi - ??? [country rock]

Shallow - ??? [country/rock/pop]

Music To My Eyes - ??? [country]

Diggin' My Grave -??? [country/rock]

Is That Alright? - Adele?

Before I Cry - Eurovision Song Contest music? [worst track]

Too Far Too Gone - Blake Shelton? [honestly, as a non-American all country music sounds like Blake Shelton to me]

I love Hair Body Face so much but it just reminds me of Call Me Mayeb by CRJ... like the vocals and the first notes in the intro. I'm going nuts over it :saladga:

Luckily enough I've got Before I Cry to rescue me :whitney:

I don't know why but Hair Body Face's chorus reminds me  of Nothing on But the Radio by Gaga herself and many of her early songs, Fame and pre-fame. Something about the synths and her voice

Before I Cry is the most Kelly Clarkson song I’ve ever heard including her entire discography

I said this before, but I really believe the vocal style in the verses on Judas was inspired by Leila K. Even more so after reading the Red One interview where he cited her as an inspiration and the interview where Gaga said she was a big fan.

Edit: excuse my trigger happy ADHD digits. Missed the ASIB part.

Like we talk about anything else...duh.

I will never love again sounds a bit like Mariah's Without You, especially the piano intro. I can hear a bit of I believe I can fly there, but that might just be me.

Look what I found is giving me also some Emeli Sande vibes.

Same thoughts here, and especially these high “somebody who loves me” parts give me a Whitney Nod feel. Kind of like the nod at Bad Romance in I Want Your Love

she needs to bring back that jamacain inspired rapping singing. and i still support this theory and live for it. this needs to be further explored

Miracle

I'm not going to stand this BIC slander.

Okay...

I Don't Know What Love Is: Elton John + Whitney Houston pop songs

Music To My Eyes: Fleetwood Mac

Diggin' My Grave: Lukas Nelson & Promise Of The Real, Fleetwood Mac.

Is That Alright: Adele

Look What I've Found: Duffy

Before I Cry: Cher (especially You Haven't Seen The Last of Me, I totally get those vibes) + Kelly Clarkson. It's TEOG's sister.

Shallow: it's very unique, it just reminds me of theatrical Gaga

Always Remember Us This Way: Elton John in the chorus + Taylor Swift in the verses

Hair Body Face: 2007-Ga, electro-clash with a bit of pop.

Heal Me: Mariah Carey in E=MC2 (Ex: Touch My Body)

Why Did You Do That: I don't know, it sounds purposefully like a Britney 2011 song with a modern touch.

Maybe It's Time: Father John Misty

Alibi + Black Eyes: Black Keys / The Police

I'll Never Love Again: Celine Dion + Mariah Carey circa 90s

ASIB is a HAC 90s indie dream.
