So I know people tend to be hard on Gaga and her team for promo, but honestly, take a step back and see the promo we have now. I don't mean in numbers of interviews, but in overall conversation. I love ASIB, the movie's a great time, but it's not that that's getting people to talk well about her again, it's the way her team is handling her from a promotional standpoint. They are controlling the conversation. Look at the way every long-piece article is being written about her. There isn't any kind of eye-rolling or irony or cynicism about her authenticity. People are taking seriously Gaga as an artist both historically and now. They're looking at the totality of her career and saying, "oh look at this post-modern pastiche", "chameleon", "she followed in the steps of so and so but made it all her own", etc. Even ARTPOP got praise from that NYT Magazine interview when they recognized its heavy metal influences instead of calling it a flop pop EDM album (they only mentioned the *relative* underperformance, but even saying that is a change from flat-out flop).

My point is, while the effect may not be as visible as the number of interviews Gaga does, it's more potent. Her team (and Gaga) really deserve a round of applause for the brilliant way they've turned the conversation about Gaga. It's kind of amazing and is really setting her up well for Vegas, the next album, taking a break, etc. Now she can do all of these things and the audience will allow her to without forgetting because she's earned the respect of them again and that's purely down to how you control the conversation. Good work, Haus.

I agree the promo is strong. They've talked about the movie on every show on TV these last few days in France. I hear people talking about it at the University. There's even an advertisement on YT for A Star Is Born. I've seen people (and not monsters) on twitter saying the movie is breathtaking etc... I've only heard positive things about the movie and Gaga and it's really becoming big! :firega: props, congrats, let's enjoy and live our best lives. !

Yeah. But sad that some people will never be satisfied. They were born to just exclusively demand things but less appreciate what's been done :diane:

And it’s efficient promotion. BTW had very inefficient promo because, as Troy admitted, he didn’t know what to do with Gaga once she made it. She was everywhere and got exhausted and burnt out. This time around, there’s been 2 trailers and a single release neither of which received enormous push and yet they splashed. She’s everywhere because her team is reading the landscape and understanding where she can impact and where isn’t worth their time. It’s better for Gaga professionally and personally.

I agree I think they couldn't have done it any better

To be honest I think that is due to being a non physsical thing. Like it's not a album or single promotion in which she has do perform , sing/dance for people its just a sit down chat, and after Joanne we only go 5'2 and that received no promotion at all after its release, so yeah people who aren't stans probably "forgot" about her in a scense of "oh she acts too?" then the trailer is iconic so people are really giving her a new name, even more after joanne era which she tamed down her style and became more viewer friendly.

But we did miss that towards the end of Born This Way era, letting Marry The Night sink, and ARTPOP era too, after Applause we got fewer and fewer promo to almost none (but I do get it that R.Kelly/Terry **** got in the way along with she and Troy Carter split) , Joanne's not even worth to mentioned, she only did radio shows for Perfect Illusion in which she exposed the whole album already...then some Million Reasons performances
