I like the Gagacycle and the normal version CD is white which I like better than the black one. It all depends on personal taste. To me, the artwork of "The Fame" was incredibly over-the-top, in a negative way. Not only did most photos and used visual effects look totally exaggerated and corny to me, the artwork had no structure that underlined the music - because "The Fame" itself was no cohesive album. It was more a collection of recordings done over the last five years. In opposite to "The Fame," I prefer the artwork done for the following two albums. This does more appeal to my taste: simple, delicately minimal and strong contrasts with only a few colors used. The black and white photography opposed to the strong red tones look ver decent and tasteful to me. But as I said, it is all up to your very own preferences. How is The Fame not cohesive? What may seem varied to some, seems rather random and unbalanced to me. I never had the feeling of completeness when listening to the album.
