I mean it sure has some more years of software updates so, if you phone doesnt show any problems by the day i think you can stick with it for quite a while. If you really want to update and dont mind the price then go for the XS or the XS Max, and if you are a little more worry about getting broke then go for the XR, it has the same chip so you arent cutting on performance. It wants to die, I know it, but I don't believe in owner-assisted suicide, so sorry iPhone 5 you're going to have to hold out a little longer. Neither of these phones seem remotely enticing tbh Why anyone wants a small tablet is beyond me; I have little hands and what pocket fits this comfortably!
