Nicki has several reviewers (one especially from Forbes) who basically called her out for collaborating with a pedophile, etc... while not even really mentioning the contents of the song in the reviews. That's all she is pointing out. Ah, you're back. Yeah, the MODERN critics. You know, the critics AFTER Gaga cut her ties from him and made up with the Till It Happens T- do I have to underline this? Bc from what I remember, ARTPOP was bombed by the critics Pearl Harbor style. Also maybe that's bc Fefe sucks. Just saying. Right now, there is a hotter female rapper so Nicki is getting that backlash. I'm not criticizing her, I'm merely pointing it out. GagaxKaty drama might’ve put gaga and ARTPOP on the media radar, specially that it was her “comeback album” after her absence when she broke her hip, she was vulnerable and easy to criticize. She didn’t beat Katy but Applause peaked at #4, and DWUW 100% could’ve peaked atleast in the Top10 but due to the media backlash the label didn’t want to push the single (and cancelled the MV) + it was around the time Troy left too, so it left gaga broken and unable to continue with the era; the album could’ve been mildly successful but R.Kellys controversy was the final nail on the coffin, that controversy is literally the only thing that’s still taunting her from that album era, meanwhile only stan-culture remembers GagaxKaty thing. Katia Perez collabed with Migos last year yet Nicki collabed with her and didn't mention her (Migos haven't raped anyone yet, but I'm talking problematic people in general).
