Why "Born This Way" album...

It depends from where you're listening to the album .. Maybe you're listening to the LQ pitched songs on youtube ..

I just dont umderstand two things.

Why a fan doesnt know the album was recorded. Like even you didnt stan. Does no one remember 2010? Do you really think there was time like that..

Second. Why some people are ignorant and have the audicity to play smart. 

Her last recording was for your song and it was very good. I was surprised with it. Also joanne piano had some srs positive aspects. Overall this new project will surely be her best in that area, or so i hope. If theres consistency in the overall sound of the songs ofc itll be easier to mix and master.

I believe they were recording it while on the road for the Monster Ball, and I always assumed she welcomed any roughness in the audio quality as part of the reality of recording on tour. It kind of sells the authenticity of her passion for performing -- like, "I'm feeling this melody/lyric RIGHT NOW, so get your computer mic if you have to." It probably made life hell for the mixer, but the result is pretty unique: a glitzy pop album with a genuinely rock and roll spirit.

I think it’s supposed to sound like it was made “on the road” also because it was.

I like how loud and messy (at times) it is. It just sounds like a bunch of emotions!

Where did you download the album from? Whenever I listen on YouTube or a free download I bootlegged, the mix sounds a lot crappier than when I listen to the original CD

On Marry, American and Highway, they certainly have some filters on her vocal to make it rougher.

I love the BTW album and have actually never noticed a problem with different qualities and sound levels. But I've noticed far too many on Joanne.

I actually find Joanne the worst mixing and mastering. Even the single was badly done when it was first released, thank god they changed it.

Probably not the right place to ask, but do you maybe know where I could find the first version of Perfect Illusion? I remember that there were some small differences but i’d like to compare them side by side since I never had the chance

the problem is many pop fans are used to a certain slickness to production because of the way modern pop music is produced.  It's why many think that autotuned vocals are the way vocals are supposed to sound.  Gaga takes a lot of things from old school productions and is more willing to keep a raw sounding record.  Much modern pop is missing a sense of "life" because of that.  People mistakenly think that "overproduced" is caused by having too much going on, when IMO overproduced is when it's so engineered and processed that it loses it's vitality.

In fairness, I think it can mean both lolol Gaga’s albums past TFM and before Joanne are definitely overproduced but they’re supposed to be so cacophonous and suffocating. I would attribute “overproduced” to be an unintentional effort when producing.

I really just meant my own interpretation of "overproduced."  Overproduced is actually a pretty meaningless term because it basically is just used as another way to say "I don't like this song."  There is no real technical meaning behind it, it means something different to everyone.
