Sis I legit said "if you are an already known artist", who is Kid Cudi? :huntyga:

You can see Kanye's name as well if you look at the featured artists. :staymad:

And according to BBH100, Kid Cudi has a top 3 song so I wouldn't really call him unknown, chart wise at least

idk it might depend actually. i dont think you should be a well known artist to sample a hit and get your song famous too. i think there are also cases where new artists have sampled very well known hits and it worked. i mean gaga sampled “my baker” with those muh-muhs in poker face and it worked. she wasnt very well known until she released poker face.

If you don’t have any shadows, you’re not standing in the light.

it's not guaranteed it just happens that they became popular while also sampling other popular songs.

And Gaga will probably never sample anyone lol... She'd scrap the song especially after BTW mess

What? I dont think Gaga INTENTIONALLY sampled Express Myself in any possible ways. She wanted to make an original record and somehow got into that mess. Not a time did Gaga accept the accusation, like at all. Maybe BTW had that 90s Mad vibe in it,but I see them as very different songs. Nothing from the melodies, the beat, the sound effects in BTW exclusively originated from Express Yourself in the aim of honoring the sampled song. Gaga created that masterpiece on her own.

Where did I say she intentionally sampled Madonna. I said that songwriters (most of the time) realize they sampled someone's work UNCONSCIOUSLY after they've written the songs. And if it were to ever happen to Gaga, she's most likely going to scrap the song, to avoid another scenario where people accuse her of copying other artists.

But are they confirming it was done on purpose or agreeing that it is the same melody? You can't call it a sample, it's different lyrics, thousands of songs have a similar vocal melody

You seem confused :cryga:

You and I was sampled from We Will Rock You, even the guitar player (i think it was the guitar player) worked on the song.
