The truth is when Gaga changed the pop scene she made all the other pop girls up their game. Second of all, there is no way Gaga is channeling Nicki in any way, shape or form. Channeling something implies referencing, paying tribute a certain moment, or icon in pop history (Do What U Want at American Music Awards was a channeling, a direct reference to Marilyn Monroe for instance - since she was wearing Marylin's highly iconic and recognizable coiffure). Neon aesthetic is not part of Nicki legacy and there are really 0 reasons for Gaga to look back at a Nicki music video at then trying to recreate it (especially considering this is her own Vegas Residency cover which should rather be a celebration to her career and not somebody's else).
